Potassiumchlorate Posted September 16, 2012 Author Posted September 16, 2012 (edited) Some compositions, like Bleser White Mg, must be made with Mg. MgAl will turn it yellow. I also prefer it for the red compositions. With Electric Magenta, Electric Turquoise etc. I'm more willing to compromise. Edited September 16, 2012 by Potassiumchlorate
pyrojig Posted September 17, 2012 Posted September 17, 2012 Speaking of the subject of Magnal comps.....I made some silver streamers with a combination of 400- magnal /and 60-mesh magnal. The majority of the ratio was the finer metal . It was a perch comp( modified from skylighters rubber stars silver streamer) . The stars burn with explosive propelling force! Lighting on the ground is a good way to get chased by these guys( sacrificed some leg hair ) ! The stars burn way to fast, and I might be considering to use them as bright cores ( that will swim like go-getters) . The star size is 3/8 in and the burn time is approx . 1 sec. They throw out a fierce amount of white sparks(due to the 60- mesh magnal)!
Potassiumchlorate Posted September 17, 2012 Author Posted September 17, 2012 Hehe, I actually burned four 8mm Shimizu Red Mg on the ground this evening. They were made with my 63µm Mg. One of them flew several meters. I have noticed that parlon stars often do that, if there is a small crack in them and the metal fuel is very fine
