Pretty green flame Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Greets This is a 50mm (~2") canister shell fillew with 10mm pumped better pearl stars. It weighed in at 92.6g and it was lifted with a good 8g of -16-20mesh lift (thanks for the tip Al, my shells are going higher now ) For the break granulated BP with 1g of whistle mix was used. The shell was spiked only vertically. Here's the movie http://www.zippyvideos.com/695631536622772...pearl_canister/
50caliber Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Very nice shell, stars were awesome and went nice and high. Whats the secret for the lift powder if you dont mind me asking?
Pretty green flame Posted November 3, 2006 Author Posted November 3, 2006 Very nice shell, stars were awesome and went nice and high. Whats the secret for the lift powder if you dont mind me asking? I don't mind I use Silver maple for the charcoal, i mill for 3 hours and i press under 2000kg of pressure. I then corn it and sieve it through a 16mesh screen. Everything that stays on the 20mesh screen get's used up for lift. What passes 20mesh gets ground up and is used for spollettes.
Mardec Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Very nice pretty green flame Only to bad the pearl effect isn't very good visible btw I got a very special 2" shell comming up for competition too

I could almost feel the concussion of the lift hehe, yeah,. my lift are pretty loud (can be an issue sometimes though ), no problem this time, we had a pyro get together which was amazing and we were situated in an abandoned quarry in the middle of nowhere. , so lots of space and free of annoying peasants
