saluterocket Posted November 1, 2006 Posted November 1, 2006 Before I really got into pyrotechnics, my main hobby was spudgunning,I spent countless hours drawing, planning and building launchers, this cannon is my biggest and most powerfull yet, at 30 psi, it will put a potato through a piece of 3/4 inch plywood. Using a very powerful Supah Plus Valve available at www.spudtech.com the entire air tank is dumped in a blink of an eye which is a 4 inch by 36 inch piece of pvc. picture. overview- http://www.putfile.com/pic.php?img=2808541 VIDEO- http://youtube.com/watch?v=2bkpROKdKbY Believe it or not, but this shot was only with 30 psi, the projectile was a coosh ball.
moonshot Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Yeah thats a sweet gun. I'm thinking of modifying mine into the barrel over the tank style with an electric valve. It's amazing how much thrust you get with a pneumatic gun.
saluterocket Posted November 4, 2006 Author Posted November 4, 2006 plywood, i know it may be hard to seem, but a 2 inch porting, chamber sealing piston valve can realease monsterous amounts of air very suddenly, which makes for this kind of damage.
saluterocket Posted November 5, 2006 Author Posted November 5, 2006 its 2 inch porting, meaning that the air is let out of a 2 inch hole, a 1 inch sprinkler valve really isnt even 3/4" porting because of the design of the gun. the valve which is housed in a 3 inch tee, is activated by a 3/4 inch modified sprinkler valve actuates the whole thing. the sprinkler valve acts much in the same way as a blowgun does to realease air with a sprinler valve. sorry that may have been confusing.
Ozzy Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 http://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/ozzyKKK/S4024629.jpghttp://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/ozzyKKK/S4024628.jpghttp://i9.photobucket.com/albums/a94/ozzyKKK/S4024626.jpg Thats mine, but its in for repair right now it should be good by tommarrow even better and no leaking at all all because before it leaked. Also try some ice slugs like 3-4 inches long molded from a piece of 2in they are bad ass and leave no evidence.
M-80Saber Posted February 2, 2007 Posted February 2, 2007 I made a gas powered one that is made of 1/2 inch steel piping dose anyone know any goos fuels that won't destroy it.
fight fire with fire Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I made a copper pneumatic spud gun but my valve broke so i stopped.
Mardec Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 What material are the tubes? I am planning on building one. But I dont know shit about spud guns..
pudidotdk Posted April 21, 2007 Posted April 21, 2007 Looks pretty much like PVC, that's what most people use, including me. EDIT: he says PVC, so I guess it is that.
_DB_ Posted June 17, 2007 Posted June 17, 2007 I didn't really know where to post this, but thought I'd throw it in here since it's pneumatic cannon related. Yesterday I shot 200mLs of lamp oil (liquid parrafin) out of my cannon at 80 PSI. I aimed it at a lit ground bloom flower on top of a barrel. The result was quite impressive! Video Still Still 2 Still 3 The stills are kind of blurry from camera movement.
_DB_ Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Haha, thanks. That show (namely him) rules! I just simply blurred my face but I though putting his over it would be way cooler. No comments on the flame though?
fight fire with fire Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Just to make you happy the flame was crap. Actually it's pretty sweet i've had that in my head for a while. Didn't Jole from spudtech do that with the thunderpipe FX?
_DB_ Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I think so. The idea is by no means original, but entertaining none the less.
JrayJ Posted July 23, 2009 Posted July 23, 2009 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QGWZW7St52wMine is rather simple and the valve is very low tech... but I have 150 psi so hey, who cares? Oh thats also my cousin who is filming them as they fall and him shooting the thing. I don't like to make apear in my own vids. It fires beer cans from a piece of pipe that just so happens to be the perfect size (I found it amongst some other old rusted pipe) and the whole thing is mounted on a rim. Tell me what you think!
