What is he suggesting? That dag isn't being forthright regarding his accident? It's hard to comprehend.

What is he suggesting?

Dunno. The only part that made any sense seams wrong to me. He claims Dagabu is "feeling sorry for him self" and from the posts Dagabu made here on the forum since the accident, thats just not the case.

For the rest of the argument i'm just staying out of it. Dagabu and Mark clearly has history with one and other, that i / we i don't know of, and to start picking sides in some sort of pissing contest when you don't know whats behind it...

Dagabu, love you like a brother. But if he buried a 8" mortar in your front yard, that should be a perfect place to grow some petunias. Or what ever that you don't want to let spread out over the yard.

B!

LOL! No, I bought a 8" gun at PGI a couple years ago that was split by an 8" italian shell that detonated. The resulting flattened steel looks very much like the back of a person, with buttocks and all. I honestly dont know why he is mad, I assume its because have the gun he blew up???

The premise that QM burns because of lack of oxygen is ODD. QM is made with black powder so it has enough oxygen in the mixture to burn completely. The paper tube simply forces the burn flame to progress along the tube and make the flame front move faster than ordinary black match.

Did quick match still work when using slightly slower BP? I don't want waste my charcoal that can produce a good BP for other than lift and burst.

I believe it actually has to do with the temperature inside the paper match, Davis talks about it in "Chemistry of powder and explosives"- I dont have it in front of me or id look it up. Gohje, slower should be fine, 3 or 4 strands to be sure- test it and let us know!!

Quickmatch still works if you use a somewhat slower blackmatch inside of it. However, blackmatch has more uses than just quickmatch, so it's generally advised to use hot BP in it. You could always have different batches for different uses though. The last I heard, you couldn't even make hot BP, so I'm not entirely sure why you're asking.

Another problem with tape is since the adhesive will still be active when stored, if you accidentally pinch the tape quick match, such as when folding them for storage, loading, etc. you will create the fire block that ruins timing. It can be dangerous because you might think it's a dud but it's not.

Ever since I've found out the Eastern or Western red Cedar charcoal makes for Hot BP my QM and BM works very well and the consistency of my process is awesome. That's the way to be from my understanding. If your going to make fireworks take your time it's not a race and you don't want anything to happen. So therefore if your going to make QM make it in a way where it's safe and effective.
