Potassiumchlorate Posted July 2, 2012 Posted July 2, 2012 (edited) It seems that they are diminishing when using more Mg and also when using finer Mg. Anyone else noticing this? I know that many simply use MgAl instead, but you won't get those extraordinary good colours with MgAl, and some, like Bleser White Mg, don't seem to work at all with MgAl; Bleser White Mg turns yellowish when using MgAl. I also get some tails when using just barium chlorate and shellac. It seems that those tails appear both when it's a composition giving of lots off dross and a composition that hasn't been 100% dried. If I had a microscope, it would be interesting to examine some parlon stars, becuase I know that some of them trap water from the acetone in them and some trap water from the usually pretty damp air here.
