Borax - sodium borate

I want to know if we can use borax (sodium borate) instead of boric acid in aluminium/nitrate compositions.

You cannot. It may actually make the problem worse. Borax is relatively basic, so may make the reaction even more likely.

You cannot because it makes the problem worse. Here is the example i have used boric acid as an and pest barrier by sprinkling it inside my house near the doorway. So do not use boron compounds outdoors in the lawn or garden.
