psymon Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 I keep on hearing about firework meetings and events in the USA and I am working if there is anything like that in the UK? If not then shall we arrange one? I guess all we would need is someone who owns a bit of land (something around 5 acres minimum) and a local pub to meet up at then we could go off and fire some of our creations, pass on tips, film them and maybe have a competition.Anyone up for that?I am based in Bedfordshire but I could travel an hour or two to meet some of you guys. Anyone up for it?

Anyone up for it? There was one organised by UKPS, looks like you missed it.
psymon Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 So who are UKPS? Did you go? What was it like, location, how many people there? Is there a web site or details of the next meet?
Pretty green flame Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Check out UK rocketry forum for more info.I didn't go as i'm not a member and not from the UK.
weknowpyro Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Yeah i think meeting up would be a great idea in the u.k. Aslong as its not all based up north i'm fine with it.And psymon this is the link to the event that was held i think the turn out was about 10-11 people.http://www.pyrosociety.org.uk/forum/index.php?showtopic=2113
psymon Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 I think so too - 10/11 people is a pretty poor show though. There must be more pyros in the UK. I am in Bedford so that isnt too far north. In fact in the centre of the UK. So anywhere (within reason) is possible.I dont have any large fields around where I live. Hopefully someone else will be willing to let us use a field for a few hours one night...
shadopyro Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 Heh Heh, i went to that UKPS convention-and it was pretty damn amazing!!theres one every year, you'll have to join them, which doesnt cost much to join and comepletly worth it!The last convention was in heckington.
psymon Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 I am in a small village surrounded by farms and fields. However I am quite new to the area so I don't know any farmers or friends who have a big patch of land for use. If I get enough people expressing interest on this forum then I am sure I can sort something out for some time next year. So any people who are interested in meeting up for a pyro shoot somewhere in Bedfordshire let me know by posting here and then maybe I will set one up.
