warthog Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Good breaks, seems like the timing is a touch to long since they are going off on the downward arc. The second shell, "Blue", seems like maybe some of the stars blew blind or something. maybe it is just because it was blue and not as bright a color. The burst didn't seem as full as the others to me. I liked the mine to lift the shell, I guess I never thought of doing that myself. Personal favorite though is the first one, two of my favorite effects, crackle and firefly and I thought the way you did it was pretty nice looking. This stuff is killing me! I need a fix!
Potassiumchlorate Posted March 15, 2012 Posted March 15, 2012 Blues look very different in videos. I shot two 5" with Bleser Aqua at different occasions; same batch of composition. The first one looked very pale on video, while the other was extraordinary deep and nice.
californiapyro Posted March 17, 2012 Author Posted March 17, 2012 @warthogI used spolettes as usual on these shells, and the BP i used was a little slow. so next time i will decrease the spolette length I don't think the blue blew blind (say that 3 times fast ) but i seem to get that a lot so i don't know. I primed them very thoroughly. As for the mines, that was more of an "oh shit I have 3 hours till the shoot and a pound of stars" thing, but i like the way it turned out as well
