larsulrich62 Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 I have searched on this site with no luck so I'll ask here.. I know Willow seems to be a nice wood to use. What type of willow tree would be best? I am thinking long term and want to grow one. Not in a hurry. thanks....

Black will is the most reactive of all willows I have seen tested but I get good fast charcoal from weeping willows as well. -dag
Xtreme Pyro Posted February 22, 2012 Posted February 22, 2012 Black willow is one of the more popular ones, as dagabu posted it is one of the most reactive. I've also had very good luck with Red stem willow. Mum Pyro carries it for 8$ a pound.
