oldguy Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 This 12 inch disk sander is a powerhouse, weighs about 90 lbs & is a wood hog.It will turn white pine 1x4, 2x2 & 2x4's into wood meal about as fast as you want. Also great for squaring up the ends of rough cut big bore PVC pipe for ball mill jars.New $130 at Harbor Freight or Northern Tool.I got this one @ garage sale for $25.
Blackthumb Posted January 11, 2012 Posted January 11, 2012 Yes...it's a log eater...I generate more sawdust/wood meal than I can use or burn...will share...more costly to ship than practical. I use it for packing in shipments of other goods...
passfireman Posted January 12, 2012 Posted January 12, 2012 Some wood meal would work great with some water glass in rolling some smoke balls. How much can you put in a large flat rate box? Passfireman
M1l2n Posted January 13, 2012 Posted January 13, 2012 Oldguy that thing looks like it would really eat some wood. Guys, I don’t use wood meal for anything other than Cremora fireballs but maybe this will help some of you with whatever you are doing. I looked up some local cabinet builders, ones who build commercial hard wood cabinets. We have 2 of them that I didn’t know we had here. They both have huge belt sanders that they use to sand hardwood doors to speed up their production. They said I could have all their sanding dust free and it works great. Hope this helps some of you, Monty
