dagabu Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 I will be doing a tutorial on the Monocopters soon. I will also post another site that has a tutorial as well. Thank you for the nice words all.
athlon Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Both truly incredible! Looking forward to a build guide.
dagabu Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Should we let this fine night pass without another video? I didn't think so either... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u3p0BsWvGSc
pyrojig Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 (edited) Should we let this fine night pass without another video? I didn't think so either... http://www.youtube.c...h?v=u3p0BsWvGSc That looks like a nozzle blow out ...lol.... But thanks for posting in... It made for a nice gerb. I am interested in those monocopters ..They Look really nice! Is the case wound in a spiral(like those ground spinner fireworks), or is it more of a stinger of sorts. BTW .. I do love a good finish as you did on that little chopper (the Ti)... That sure adds such a nice touch.. I have made a similar spinning flying firework with the thin more energetic fuse. It is wound in a spiral, then lightly sprayed with a Nc lacquer spray. It is dried in that shape, then lit later. It spins then flies kind of like yours but a little more erratic...( kind of like twizzlers) Edited February 17, 2011 by pyrojig
DasSchaben Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Whoa, nice work! The monocopter and the girandola turned out brilliantly!
dagabu Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Thanks guys, I will be posting a tut on the monocopters soon.
Ralph Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 You should do mono Copter to surprise Makes a great device even better
Mumbles Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 If you give it away it, it wont be a surprise anymore.
dagabu Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Trust me, when I post the next video, there will be Monocopter to surprise, for sure!
Algenco Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 OK, what would the "surprise" be? That it flies?? couldn't help myself
Algenco Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 if I were picking on you I would mention that although I'm older, I have very thick hair
dagabu Posted February 17, 2011 Posted February 17, 2011 Me too but its all on my back and in my ears (eeewwwwwww!)
Peret Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Well here's something to aim for, by The Master. Skip the first minute to see what must be a man-year of careful work go off in ten minutes of sheer excellence. I have never seen cylinder shells perform like this. I won't embed, because you will want to watch this full screen.
Guest no6 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 3 years ago a friend of mine introduced me to consumer fireworks. I became addicted. Made the racks, learned fusing, etc, etc. 4 months ago he said he would like to make his own stuff. I said well, I'd only be interested if we could make this stuff as well or better than the consumer stuff. I'm enough of a perfectionist to strive for these type of results. The Master is awesome. A goal worth shooting for.
dagabu Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 The Masters rockets are incredible, if you ever get the chance to go to a shoot where he displays his wares, you will be in awe at what he can do with a 2.5" ID canister shell. Honestly, his small shells beat the pants off most shells 2-3 times as big due to the perfection with which he makes them.
Guest no6 Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Hey Dag, how do you think he attaches his canisters to the motor? Is it just hot glue?
dagabu Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 (edited) Oh, hey NO6, sorry, I missed this one completely... Yes, TR uses hot glue only to attach his headings to the rocket motors. While I am here, how about a rocket video? Great Saturday! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mzimd7FX2fE Edited April 3, 2011 by dagabu
dagabu Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 I like this one too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QdkJKoxjelA

WonderBoy Posted April 6, 2011 Posted April 6, 2011 (edited) Nice! I love the rip of that standard whistle. What do you mean by 'BP core burner tooling 4" Spindle' and 'BP core burner tooling 3" spindle'? Edited April 6, 2011 by WonderBoy
vegasdude Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 Nice! I love the rip of that standard whistle. What do you mean by 'BP core burner tooling 4" Spindle' and 'BP core burner tooling 3" spindle'? I use a standard BP core burner spindle that has been trimmed down to 3" and one at 4"
