:| WOW You gonna upload the video 2nite?

Good luck with it ;)

Possibly, depends on how long it takes to render it.

It looks like you got a very nice break off that shell. It's difficult to tell how high it got up there, but to me at least it seemed to have enough clearance. Very nice job. I can't wait to have sound, I bet it has a mighty roar.

Beautiful, mac!

Great whistle AND shell!

Way to go.....

Thanks, was really happy with how this turned out. If I had to guess on height I would say 5-700 feet.

Very nice! Your camera has an awesome microphone...that thump was great. You probably could've done with a little less than a 3" salute worth of flash powder in the break though. ;)

I shot some rockets for Hallowe'en. They can be seen in my album. One has a video and a pic, one has not pic, one has no video. I found out about half flight of the composite rocket that I ran out of storage memory. But it wasn;t anything special. Im just glad I got all of the brillant orange shell going off, it cut the video off right after star burn out.

If at first you don't succeed..... ;)

That last one was very nice. Good takeoff and height!

Well, here you go

My first blackpowder with a Ti salute at the top.

The header contained 6g of KClO4/Al and 0,7g of Ti, 250-350µ spherical powder.

I used fast BP with Ti powder added, roughly 3%.

I hope you all enjoy it ;-)

Here are my last two (recorded) tests. Both are 1lb'ers. The first just a standard 75/15/10 and the second 75/15/10 +5AL. These accelerated much quicker than I had expected!

For a bump.

So this should fit in here. The contents of this shell barely fit.

http://i108.photobucket.com/albums/n3/psyco_1322/S4024725.jpg

4" ball shell. Pasted with 1" wide 35lb gummed craft. Its contents: A ring of green stars, a pink pistle, 6 timed reports, a bottom shot.

Ya, its all in that ball. :P The reports are similar to the Mexican triangular firecrackers called palumas. The bottom shot is a salute made from 2 bottle caps. Reports in one hemi, with sawdust to take up most of the space, leaving 1/2-3/4" of space for burst. The other hemi contained the bottom shot, with sawdust around it too, and the same empty space. I filled the space with some red alder granular bp, and sprinkled in a little whistle booster. The stars were laid in the BS hemi, pressed into the burst. Fire was piped to the center of the shell.

The rocket was a 1lb whistle burning a potassium benzoate fuel catalyzed with copper oxychloride. Delay section was actually supposed to change pitches. I mix one fuel with another in different ratios so it eventually change from one to the other. I dont think it worked all that well.

Here is the unjust video:

For some unknown dumb reason my camera does not like star effects at long ranges or something. I even made sure it was off macro when I shot the video. I just need a new camera. Plus, the damn colors didn't come out!!! The ring was quite green, and the center a nice pink. I was impressed with the green actually. Its a barium sulfate green and I took the formula down from a respectable place, planing to try it out. When I tested some of the dry powder it was barely green at all and I thought I was going to have mint colored stars. They actually burn with a nice under par green hue. The pink is from United Nuclear I think. Its ok. Sorry for the wind, I was shooting this thing tonight or I was going to have some kind of serious medical issue associated with pyros not burning enough things over extended periods of time.

This was a 600g KNSO rocket with a refratory cement 7mm nozzle, 6mm core and 20g potassium perchlorate/dark Al.

http://1click.pyroszene.com/dl/1121/600 ... ak.wmv.htm

The guide rod was made of two taped broomsticks.

Sadly we decide to take a too big safety distance.

I test a few rocket with this propellant before and can say that a long enough core is important to get a high speed rocket similar to whistle rockets.

My next rocket project is a 700g KNSO rocket with a even longer core an a bigger effect head.

Looking good there TrueBlue. A very nice tail on the rocket, what are the specs on the driver (ID, length etc) and did you ball mitt and add extra charcoal? Also, how much did the shell weigh?

Hi! I'm new in this forum. This is my first reply.

Here are some rockets 20mm ID. Core diameter is 8mm.

Fuel is 60/30/10 and it was pressed with a 10tn jack press.

Payload was 2'' can shells with varius stars.

Hello,

Here is my last rocket. It is a black powder core burner 30mm ID engine. Core diameter is 12mm and its depth 90mm. Bentonite clay plug 15mm -fuel 120mm. Fuel is 60/30/10 pressed in 10tn press. Shell is 3'' round shell with benzolift booster and bp on rice hulls burst. Unfortunately only 4 of the ruby red stars lit most probably because of bad prime. Overal weight: more than 1/2 Kg.

This was my biggest rocket ever and it has an amazing thrust.

Oh yeah I know this is "little" late now but anyway, Yeah I made my fuel by just mixing 20g fo BP and 10g of charcoal, I havent really tried to tweak the fuel cause I like a nice slow burning rocket with a awesome bushy tail like those where. The header was just some black powder to test like the burn speed and pass fire hole and what ever...Now I use flash :D

I will upload the videos again when I get home.
