Your powder will be OK in stars, you should be able to use is where ~20 mesh granular/flitters are called for. It will be good for waterfalls.

ok thanks fore the help, i will try to get some nice stars with it then.

Be carful when ball milling it as it can become pyrophoric(ignite when exposed to air). You can add it a rocket to make a tail. Not sure but maybe put it in a shell with some stars, it might come back to earth though.

PS: nice camera!

I used a powder a little larger than this for very cheaply made fountains. I also ball milled some to make a nice fine powder.

If you want to make it finer try milling some of the Al with some coins, like quarters and nickels for

about a couple of days. It will become finer but very slowly. Also for an alumminum effect you can

use aluminum foil but I think your aluminum bars will be better.

If you do choose to mill some open the mill up every now and then (24hrs) to let fresh air in.

BTW you might want to resize that picture...

Use this URL "http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3003/post41160017547kn7.jpg" or something like that so the forum reads ok.

hello,

I think that you can use it for fountain compositions and so on.

It´s a little bit to coarse for flashpowder´s.

If u want to make Al-powder- or dust....

that would probably helpful:

I hope it helps

I would be leary of the water partially oxidizing the metal you intend to use.

That will have the same problem as grinding down Al foil in a blender with water as stated above ^^^^.

Also the sand paper will put contaminates in the powder (aluminum oxide?).

So it's not the best idea. The best I believe is just milling the Al with something that is harder then it for a couple of days.

i think i will try to ballmill it first and dosent that work for me then I will try the sandpaper, tanks for the tips evryone
