Synthesis of Copper Chloride

i know this is really old , but why i think he might be getting a precipitate is due to impurities in the chemicals, because when preformed with pure reagents i got no precipitate, just an emerald green color of the presence of Copper(II)Chloride and i used an access of HCL. Sadly no Copper 1 ions are being produced by this
