Mumbles
Terephthalic acid. US patent 6,521,064 has some information about the application that FlaMtnBkr was talking about.
psyco_1322
I haven't really been able to notice much a difference in tone with small devices either. When you get to larger items, pounds +, there might be a difference but it's still going to be subtle. There are better ways to get deeper notes from your reports. More fuel in the mix will slow the burn rate a few milliseconds and lengthen the pressure way. You will get more of a thump in the chest and loose some of the deafening crack. Another thing you can do is sub in some slower burning Al. I like using a 2:1 mix of indian blackhead and 325-400 mesh bright Al. In a 70:30 mix, it's still pretty punchy, but has a nice bassy note. You can mix the Al 1:1 but it really takes some of the power out of the comp, making it a bit more "quiet". Fine atomized Al will work in the same way, but you maybe want to experiment with different ratios.
