Ralph Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Nice rockets what formula were you using for those rockets ? also what tooling ?
vegasdude Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 Ralph, here is a link to Magnalium Rockets Magnalium Rockets and I am using a standard 1lb BP core burner spindle that is 4" long and I also use one thats 3" long.
WonderBoy Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) Those poor BP spindles Why are you using shortened spindles? Also, do you mind sharing if you are making them like in the link (with a nozzle)? Or like how SLD makes them (without a nozzle)? <----- As you can see by my picture at the left, I too like the magnalium colored rockets. Edited May 12, 2011 by WonderBoy
vegasdude Posted May 12, 2011 Author Posted May 12, 2011 (edited) I've had good luck with my shorter spindles and wanted to see if they work for magnalium rockets... Yep they work I make both Red and Green using 2% mineral oil and mix them in a ziplock, kind of like how Dan Thames makes whistle mix. I do use 1 scoop of kitty litter for the nozzle and 1 scoop of fast whistle to get it to jump. I do have 1lb UT tooling and made one according to Ned and Steve's spec sheet but havent fired it yet.
