rocket Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I no what you mean it can be so tempting the curiosity may get the better of you though. You’ll get used to it.
Rogue Chemist Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Here is a good one,Why you don’t try and throw an with a short fuse M-80s:http://iuhs-isa.org/blog/cj15.jpgHoly fuck! Says it all. Gore used to bother me, but not anymore. Don't know what happened.
Draco_Aster Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 You have become used to it. Gore is all around us, look at all the computer games (oh how I love CSS) and movies and internet (www.rotten.com to satisfy your curiosity). Many years ago these images and animations would have given people nightmares and made them sick (I am feeling rather sick in the gut after seeing concequences). And yet I will still watch violent movies and play shooting games....because I can't get enough of it
rocket Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 When you think about it the making you sick in the gut is a good thing it makes you think twice before you make/do something and it discourages you from doing stupid things and ending up like what’s in the pics
pyrochris Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Here is a good one,Why you don’t try and throw an M-80 with a short fuse:http://iuhs-isa.org/blog/cj15.jpg i hate you all lol
Mardec Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That is why I never ever hold an pyrotechnic device in the palm of my hand unless absolutely necessairy. Usually I pick up my bangers with their fuse and I NEVER light them in my hand. And who the fuck is that sick basterd that takes pictures of these things... Is there like a man that takes pictures of every injury in a hospital..
Pretty green flame Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 That is why I never ever hold an pyrotechnic device in the palm of my hand unless absolutely necessairy. Usually I pick up my bangers with their fuse and I NEVER light them in my hand. And who the fuck is that sick basterd that takes pictures of these things... Is there like a man that takes pictures of every injury in a hospital.. I belive that these pictures are taken for anti-fireworks propaganda puroposes and for documentation purposes in the hospital.
_DB_ Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Well, gore in video games and movies is different since it is not real. These pictures on the other hand are real. My dad has a picture laying around somewhere that was taken in the hospital when he had to go to the emergency room a few years ago. He got his hand caught in a machine at his job which peeled the skin and muscle from his palm back to his wrist. It was pretty gruesome but no permanent damage was done. So they do take pictures of injuries, atleast at ERs. Anyway I think this is a good thread for showing the true damage pyrotechnic devices can inflict on the human body if used improperly. Scary stuff it is.
Swany Posted September 16, 2006 Author Posted September 16, 2006 Yeah, my dad is a doctor at the local emergency room. He has seen plenty of blown apart hands due to sillyness like this, though he has not seen any directly related pyrotechnic/chemistry/HE deaths. Nor high voltage for that matter. He has been working here for 20 years or so, and I belive the average span for an ER doc is about 9 years and then they burn out. I like violent videogames, and I would not blame them on problems like Hillary Clinton would. I mean, in the early 1800's they thought the waltz was going to ruin the world, in the 1900's it was the radio, and now the internet. I see a pattern, and society still flourishes for the most part.
artificier Posted September 30, 2006 Posted September 30, 2006 I never love metal casing , i too dangerous !

Swede Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 No offense to some here, but if you are desensitized to actual pictures of dismemberment, something is wrong.. your brain wiring is numb or something. It's a lot like graphic porn. Desensitizing. I think every male especially goes through a porn phase, one best skipped entirely. Gore is similar to porn in its desensitizing effects. You begin to lose empathy, and the pictures no longer have the intended impact. Think of the movie "8mm" - a similar action takes place. Consumers hungry for violent porn are bored, and to fill the void, actual "snuff" films are made. The detective, Nicholas Cage, gets totally fried looking at all the porn while tracking down the killer(s). As for me, I don't need to, or want to click those links. I know what can happen to the human body.
TheSidewinder Posted February 1, 2009 Posted February 1, 2009 As I said in another post, using proper grammar and punction is a requirement here at APC. Another thing we ask members not to do, is to bump very old threads unless you have important information to add to it, or an update to it that corrects misinformation. In the future, people, please keep this in mind. Thank you.

Bonny Posted February 2, 2009 Posted February 2, 2009 sorry about my spelling and grammar i whell some how still manage to pass english but i will try to impriove as much as posible but dont expect to much i have been trying for quite some time now After reading this, you should try a bit harder. Maybe copy and paste your sentence(s) to word or something and use the spell check BEFORE posting. It makes everything so much easier and more pleasant to read for everyone else.

Jesus-God, spell-check if free for fuck-sake! Your sentiment is correct and well meaning so I don't mean to be a dick, but Goddamn man, a little effort wouldn't kill you. In dealing with energetic materials it is absolutely essential not to make mistakes since even simple mistakes can have catastrophic results. Please take the time to put as much due-diligence into your writing as you do to your pyro craft. You work will be much more respected and appreciated if you do so.
TheSidewinder Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 Ooooookay, that's just about enough from all sides. Members, leave the Moderating to the Moderators. The "Report Post" button works fine now, in case I missed that in the New Features post I made ages ago. Ralph, find a way to make readable and reasonably well-punctuated sentences. So far they haven't been.

Pretty green flame Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 it seems a paedophile is more welcome at a primary school than i am here Dude, how old are you?
Ralph Posted February 3, 2009 Posted February 3, 2009 i wouldn't judge by age just as judging a book by its cover is foolish or a persons knowledge by their spelling but i am 17 years of age and ashamed of my dyslexia and despite this attempt to contribute in a forum do you have a problem with this?
