Ralph Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 where should i start, im new but know what to do,should i start with black powder or something else like a smoke bomb thank you and sorry for posting about flash powder and starting off in the wrong direction, was to eager to making flash powder, but know now that , that is not the best place to start Start with black powder get good quality meal sorted out and make some stars too like streamers (Titanium streammers or Tiger Tail) or glitters (Ralphs glitter or N1 glitter) than from there you can easily make heaps of things fountaisn rockets mines shells hummers many things like that but with out good black powder you cant even make decent black match
gsmkkji Posted May 4, 2011 Author Posted May 4, 2011 do you guyz know any specfic fireworks i should be making, and that i can make with black powder and materials i can get in Canada?any tutorials on how to make them?
Arthur Posted May 4, 2011 Posted May 4, 2011 (edited) Two things before you do anything! First- read at least one good text book on fireworks, read completely and with understanding, Shimizu, Lancaster and several others wrote good books. You should have a real hard copy of the books and keep reading, dip in every day for a year or so before you even get chemicals. Second- please check your use of the English language, in the chemistry and construction of fireworks odd letters can make lots of difference -ates vs ites is a prime example and there are many others. Properly formed sentences show the attention to detail that is necessary to stay safe with active chemicals. Unless you keep your language skills well honed you are never going to read and understand the national and provincial rules that control fireworks and the local cops will be on your case before you care! Third- work very small! A rocket that weighs two grams will serve as a test for a bigger rocket but if the little one catos the bang will likely not bother the neighbours, but if you make a big bang your liberty may be over.
