50AE Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Here's another 4" ball made from 1mm newspaper hemis. The blue is from my compositions, chlorate No 3. I used the old stars that were for testing. What I'm really doing is getting rid of old stars I'm not quite satisfied from the burst and I believe the recycled kraft used for pasting is to blame. From personal experience, I've never been able to make symmetrical burst with it as I always do with virgin kraft. The shell also had a booster, 2g whistle in a center bag. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRgD4QV2FvE&feature=feedlik Edited April 18, 2011 by 50AE
fredhappy Posted April 18, 2011 Posted April 18, 2011 (edited) Nice colour. I don't dabble with chlorates myself though, to much of a hassle for me. I see some open patches in your break, could it be that some stars were blown blind? Cool shell though, keep up the good work! Edited April 18, 2011 by fredhappy
50AE Posted April 19, 2011 Author Posted April 19, 2011 (edited) I think the open patches are because of a paper problem. I counted the stars and I'll check if they match with the number a shell contains. Edited April 19, 2011 by 50AE
Mumbles Posted April 19, 2011 Posted April 19, 2011 A lot of times cut stars in ball shells can have slightly erratic flight patterns, so some areas may appear to be more or less densely populated. You can see the seam of the shell too, which wont have any stars in it.
