dagabu Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 (edited) Hey all, I just wanted to share some of my projects with you all that I have been working on. These are all 100% my creation, all of them are cut from stock with no CNC or special tooling, just a calipers, file, sand paper and a lathe. NightHawkInLight Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 Maybe if NightHawkinLight wants to play with his new drillpress, he would be willing to sell you a star plate. Not at the moment. I don't like selling things when it's my first time building them.

Mumbles Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 How about comet pumps? If so I'd be interested in one for the following. http://pyrobin.com/files/stars.jpg
Algenco Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 How about comet pumps? If so I'd be interested in one for the following. http://pyrobin.com/files/stars.jpg Me too
NightHawkInLight Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 How about comet pumps? If so I'd be interested in one for the following. http://pyrobin.com/files/stars.jpg That's too cool. That would make 3" shells take half the time to build, and be perfectly consistent. I might also be interested if I can afford it.
dagabu Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 Sheesh! You guys are killing me! 2.5 OD, 7 stars, give me a few days, I will mill a prototype and we will see what it would cost.
OneEyeCharlie Posted March 29, 2011 Posted March 29, 2011 I'm coveting the cannon. What's the bore ID?
dagabu Posted March 29, 2011 Author Posted March 29, 2011 .50", The brass runs $4.00 an inch so I would need $50.00 for the barrel without any changes. That's too cool. That would make 3" shells take half the time to build, and be perfectly consistent. I might also be interested if I can afford it. Shoot me that link for the canon we saw last night please.

Here's the cannon:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxHW-QGMuZ4 And here's the second video with his upgraded cannon:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wi4g_U0hoOg&feature=related I would love to buy one of those off you if you make a few. No need for the fancy second one.

Unfortunately they don't work as well as traditionally stacked comets, and thus lose the consistency you think you might be getting. I was thinking of them more for insert shells, where the expedited assembly can really pay off. When I get back into things, I might make myself a prototype out of plastic. I was mostly just trying to give you a hard time dagabu since you won't do star plates. I'd probably be looking at something with 6 or 7 stars in a 1.75" ring. It equates approximately to 5/8" or 1/2" respectively.
Algenco Posted March 30, 2011 Posted March 30, 2011 Im off the hook? WHOOT!! yep, didn't really want one. Star plate ??
