Mumbles Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 So I was talking to Al93535 and Pyrohawk about this a bit. What's everyone's favorite beer? Well, beer and/or beverage. It's seems our friend Moonshot enjoys Natty Ice. Ha, I'm just kidding you man. I know what the monetary limitations can reduce one to.
rocket Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I would have to say me dads homemade stuff is me favorite beer, full of flavor, bit to much sometimes though. Tooheys new isn’t bad ether.
_DB_ Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Guinness all the way! I haven't tried too many beers but from what I have tried I can tell I'm a fan of dark beers and Guinness is the best I've had. Other than that, water is nice too!
maximusg Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 http://users.tpg.com.au/jholc/tooheys%20sig.jpg thats my sig from another forum although i havnt bought beer since i finished my still.
Pretty green flame Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 What's everyone's favorite beer? I wouldn't know, i don't drink.
Rogue Chemist Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I barely drink, but I enjoy the beer Hoegaarden.(purchased for its name origionally ) Beverage, everclear, but not for comsumption. I tend to side with Swany here, ethanol is for the fulminates, not drinking. And of course a cornicopia of other non-ingestion uses of it. I tried the non drinking, then the heavy drinking which was not really me, now I just very rarely drink.
FrankRizzo Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I've drank a pint or two of Guinness religiously every Tuesday for the last 3 years. A close second would be any beer besides Scandia that Summit Brewing has ever made, and draught Heineken (not the skunked bottled stuff) is also a favorite. I'm drinking a glass of "Curve Ball" from Pyramid right now...mmm
cplmac Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Rolling Rock and Harp. Black and Tans are good too.
h0lx Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 http://www.narvax.com/Pictures/Purk_ALeCoqPremium05_1.jpgI like local beers:) It is awesomely good, I say it's better than carlsberg or heineken.
Mephistos Minion Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Cheap cheap cheap whisky and southern comfort all the way! When it comes to beer, my local Tassie brew Cascade Draught is the greatest.
hst45 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 My homebrew lager made from Coopers extralight malt. Right now unfortunaly work is slow, so no cash, so I'm down to Milwaukees Best Light. Anything but "Crud-wiser."
ActionTekJackson Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I'll stick with a Widmer Hefaweizen I like wheat beer.
BigBang Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 I don't drink myself, other than the occasional capfull. I am a big fan of iced tea, having a pitcher anywhere I go. I bet I can guess what mumbles likes
brainfever Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 The best beer (ale actually) come from Beligum: -Jupiler-Stella-Duvel Just to name a few I like. Try searching for a complete list of belgium beers and be amazed ... The only foreign beer I've liked so far is pilsner urquell from Plzn (CZ). I don't drink much, just a few beers with buddies now and then, and you'll rarely find me drunk at a party or bar. Hoegaarden is also from Belgium :-) (have we met somewhere before rogue chemist?, your nick doesn't seem familiar, and I'm always interested in knowing some fellow belgian pyro's)
joe609 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Im forever budweiser, altough i love a beer called 'tribute' i think it's local here in the uk so most of you wont have had it, dunno maybe you have? Can't stand 'wife beater'
h0lx Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Belgian beers are a tad bit too strong, which give them an unpleasant taste. Good tasted beer is 4.5-5.5% alc not more or less
shadopyro Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Hm, dont usually drink much but when i do, i have dry martini on the rocks, stella artois, and if i got other people paying for me champagne.I once tried this drink with my friend when we went to belgium on a history trip (woulda been sooo busted if we got caught!)i think it was called jupiler? that stuff was great! really refreshing!
moonshot Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I'm gonna have a hard time living that Natty Ice thing down and yes I was scraping the bottom of my beer fund barrel to get it. In more prosperous times I like the local micro brews. There are quite a few in the local area most of which turn out very respectable beers and ales. Full Sail makes good ales and porters. I've heard a lot about the Belgian beers Hope to sample a few of those someday.
noslo98 Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 My first choice is alwaise Widmer Hefeweizen. But still like standard Bud on occasion too.
TheSidewinder Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Any of the offerings from our local Summit Brewing Company. I especially liked the Winter Porter. And normally, I don't drink at all. M

Rogue Chemist Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 WOW. Begium does have lots of beers. I'll have to see what else from there is available over here. Brainfever, I PMed you about what you mentioned in your previous post.
cplmac Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I'm gonna have a hard time living that Natty Ice thing down and yes I was scraping the bottom of my beer fund barrel to get it. In more prosperous times I like the local micro brews. There are quite a few in the local area most of which turn out very respectable beers and ales. Full Sail makes good ales and porters. I've heard a lot about the Belgian beers Hope to sample a few of those someday. We used to drink Natty Lite almost exclusively in the barracks. It is a pretty typical domestic beer, little taste, easy to drink in quantity, not heavy at all. Still, just a flat crap beer.
FrankRizzo Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Any of the offerings from our local Summit Brewing Company. I especially liked the Winter Porter. And normally, I don't drink at all. MI agree, the Porter is most excellent. Once it goes to bottle though, it gets a harsher character. Me and a buddy just took the Sat. tour early last month...you cannot beat the freshness of the taps there. Rogue: See if you can find Delerium Tremens, a fairly big Belgian Ale made by Huyghe.
Mardec Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Yeah Belgium does have a lot of beers. I am Belgian too and I know a place that serves more than 90% of all Belgian beers and a lot of forein beers. Their list of drinks is over 40 pages long And there are so many beers in Belgium, and yet I go for imported. I personally like Budweiser very much. But it costs like 3$ (2,5 €) here
