d4j0n Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 What are recommended type and weight presses for different rockets? Whistles and black powder rockets of different sizes.
Mumbles Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 It all should be done by PSI. You can figure out required press weight from there. BP should go to 6500 PSIWhistle should go to 8800 PSI
brainfever Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 Boooooooooooo PSI !!! Pascal or N/m² is the international standard measurement for pressure It's far easier to calculate the required press weight from that ... Yeey for IS measurements, get normalized, dump those old and unscientific imperial measurements
d4j0n Posted September 6, 2006 Author Posted September 6, 2006 Yea, but too bad arbor presses are sold in non-SI measurements.... So let me get this strait: for a 3/8" bp rocket: pi*[(3/8")/2]^2 = 0.11045 square inches .11045 * 6500 PSI = 717.9 pounds of force = get a half ton arbor press.
