al93535 Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 1 lb Rocket with 8 grams flash. I was testing an engine, so I put a lil flash on top. And again I forgot the prefire pic... Video: http://www.apcforum.net/files/1lb8gramsflash.wmv
rocket Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Is it me or did that rocket have a longer flight duration than the others you’ve made?
al93535 Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 I did add a little bit of extra delay. But more importantly, the rocket was not weighed down by a heavy header. Speed of sound in air at 20degrees C = 1124 feet per second. Time delay from the light to boom, - 1.15 seconds. Distance of rocket from me 1292 feet.
aquaman Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 I always love your stuff AL. Good Job. I wish I had an area to do my stuff on a regular basis that is close by....
Mumbles Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 What the fuck have I been saying about stupid bull shit posts? You're posting ability is removed for a week. Do it again and I am banning your ass.
itwasntme Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Whats a !Lb rocket ? http://www.pyrotooling.com/glossary_of_terms.htmThere you go ozzy. I think it comes from how heavy a cannon ball can be to fire from a specific size tube, so that would be a 1lb for a 3/4 in ID tube.
shadopyro Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Very nice!!Just out of curiosity Al, what do you use for your delay? and which method? (-as in do you actually use an ejection charge or leave it just as a delay leading to the header? meaning that the payload goes off with the engine still attached)
