dagabu Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 We took our short trip to the Iron range this weekend and decided to snowmobile for a while in the cold. When we took the snowmobiles out of the garage, it was -36° F, I am sure it warmed up some as we were playing but not a whole lot. It was actually quite warm due to layering and good clothing. VIDEO

Cookieman Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Damm! and I thought -21 was cold. When I started my car this morning, the engine barely turned over.Spent some quality time with my son and helped him with his homework.
anapogeetoofar Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Oh, great, I can hear the "plop plop" of grey mystery snow falling of the car in the garage at 10:00 at night right now. Might have to move back to minne-so cold one day too... But for the time being I'm enjoying Florida's weather way too much. Ha.I still remember when I was a kid I could look out me window and see the lights of the Koch refinery at night, and in winter when the leaves on the oak and hickory were gone I could watch all of the traffic lights change colors almost all the way into Inver grove heights. Ahhhh...
dagabu Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 ...Good point. Like living in a Mad Max film down in Rosemont.
hst45 Posted January 26, 2011 Posted January 26, 2011 Sledding is the best! The other night I had my old ass out on my old-assed Polaris Indy 500, bombing around with a buddy of mine on his tricked-out Yamaha Nytro. Minus 10 degrees, ripping through the trees at 40mph, (I was doing 40; HE was doing 90), on groomed trails. I'm off work on Thursday and I'm looking forward to going down the mountain and getting out onto the lake. Winter is the best; not only can you snowmobile/ski/skate/and snowboard, but if you have a low shot on a shell, you won't light the snow on fire,..... unlike the Dakins' hayfield, for which I apologized years ago.
dagabu Posted January 26, 2011 Author Posted January 26, 2011 I agree 100%! Its the best time to test red lined rockets and long burn stars too.
WSM Posted January 27, 2011 Posted January 27, 2011 I agree 100%! Its the best time to test red lined rockets and long burn stars too. Hey! If you get tired of all THAT fun, come out West and join us for Western Winter Blast in a few weeks!!! Out here the snow is well behaved;... it stays in the mountains where it belongs . WSM
dagabu Posted January 27, 2011 Author Posted January 27, 2011 I would love to WSM but I have to keep working toward PGI.
WSM Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 I would love to WSM but I have to keep working toward PGI. Yeah, true. It would be nice to see you again. If funds are tight or limited, we have to choose which things get done and which get left out. Maybe later...?! I'm planning on PGI also; see you there. WSM
Richtee Posted February 1, 2011 Posted February 1, 2011 (edited) Doing Tourbillions again?I'm doing ribs. Expected 12-14" and highs of 16 tomarrow. Gonna have to stock the smoker full-o-lump! Always loved the flavor of pepper-steak and such flavored things. Not raw green peppers so much, but the fried ones. In this case, in OO with balsamic, some salt and sugar. Gonna let this sit till tomarrow and do 'em up for me and a buddy in town for the Wings game tomarrow night. Should pick up some flavor, ya think? http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/Mobile%20Uploads/0201011056.jpg In the plastic pants for 24 or so hours... http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/Mobile%20Uploads/0201011059.jpg Edited February 1, 2011 by Richtee

dagabu Posted February 2, 2011 Author Posted February 2, 2011 Let me get some stretch wrap on the keyboard first, OK?
Richtee Posted February 3, 2011 Posted February 3, 2011 (edited) Let me get some stretch wrap on the keyboard first, OK? OK... Here's the slabs getting a mustard rub and covered in Mad Hunky rub. Pepper aroma is apparent on the last slab.http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/Mobile%20Uploads/0202011340.jpg Outta the WSM... PERFECT ribs.... notice coloring, and bite to clean off the bone. YUM! http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/Mobile%20Uploads/0202011923.jpg http://i471.photobucket.com/albums/rr72/esalink/Mobile%20Uploads/0202011924.jpg OK...sooo YES! If you like pepper-steak...TRY THIS! The flavor was clearly there, even thru the Mad Hunky rub and mop...AND the Rudy's! BTW - the Rudy's is an excellent "non-sweet" sauce, and was perfect with the added pepper flavor. Try that combo folks! OH BTW.. https://rudysbbq.com/store/c-2-sause.aspx Edited February 3, 2011 by Richtee
