Hobby Horse two tier pricing?

Hobby Horse has something weird going on with the pricing and selection on New England paper tubes.

If you use this APC Forum link, the prices are low but so is the selection.

But if you use this googled link, the prices are higher for the same items as above but there is a much greater selection

http://www.hobbyhorse.com/pyro_tubes.shtml

Why the dual pricing and enhanced selection on the expensive page?

Does APC get preferred pricing or am I just pulling up an older page.

I'm plenty happy with the prices on the first site and decided to buy now before they pull that page down.

I went ahead and ordered some cheaper 1 Lb tubes using the APC link and everything processed just fine.

Call Jim at 1.800.604.6229, he is there till noon usually. The page that shows 10-3# tubes for $38.00 and that is what I paid for my last bundle from him.

Well that kinda sucks. I pulled my recent invoice and I paid $20 for the 1 lb tubes. Could have saved $4. Gonna bookmark the better link!

Just got off the phone with Jim from Hobby Horse about my order from using that 1st link posted. That link is outdated, you need to use the second link http://www.hobbyhorse.com/pyro_tubes.shtml or you'll be getting a phone call from Jim too. I told Jim I'd pass this news along to everyone here at APC.

This is great and all... but why not post it where it belongs?

I did not start the thread and place it here. It made no sense to start a new thread under supplier reviews or what have you to answer the beginning poster. If the mods want to move this thread to where it should be then good, I don't have that authority.

I'm all about saving money, but it isn't that big of a price difference and the tubes shipped were still a fair price. I've bought from him before and will buy more tubes in the future. It sure beats setting up a group buy from NEPT or rolling your own.

3...2...1... I'm over it ;)

If anyone needs tubes, I have 200 coming my way next week. 1" ID and 3/4" ID. They are the same ones that Pyrodirect sells. PM me for details.

Where is the "old link" please? I'll remove or update it.

Thank you.

Thank you.

I can't find it now. I was reading page after page of old rocketry posts when I originally found it and it must've been buried way back. I also did a quick search on Hobby Horse but no luck. All of the links that I did find by Mumbles and crew were all correct.

Jim called again and said that the old pages are now all cleaned up so even if someone does find the old link, it won't work.

I also want to add that Jim of Hobby Horse has been more than helpful.

I mentioned to him that I have a lot to learn and am new to making rockets and to pyro in general. He said he knew someone local to me that could help. That same day I received a call from his friend who offered to be a mentor. Also Jim even made a follow up call to be sure that his friend had contacted me and to be sure that I was still ok with the rocket tube order. I take that as a sign good customer service. Once my order arrives I'll put in a good word on the customer review page.
