Nice Rockets, especially liked the crossette. Why do you obscure the beautiful natural sounds of the Pyro with the god awful heavy metal music?!?

There are two minds on adding music and I am of the mind that when I involve my kids in the hobby and when they wish to select a song to companion the video, I work with them to accomplish the feat and then publish it as they wish. I certainly can remove the music and let the rockets sing for themselves.

You're kids chose GodSmack? I can understand metal, but Godsmack just don't do it for me. I think of anything rockets should be left to make their sounds alone.

Ahh chill... I think its awesome that dagabu includes his kids in his hobby, I wish I could include my dad in my hobby.

Also, everyone has thier music choice, some like classical *Throws up*, and some like Godsmack...

Dont you all worry, I will re-post it with no music... Or maybe, Mary Poppins!

Great vid, how many of those Rockets were yours? Obviously not the ones that CATO'd... hehe.

What is that picture above? With your kids? I assume...

Thanks for your kind words. Just so you know, I wrote Technique in Fire, Vol. 11 "Grand Finale Techniques" last January. It's available from Skylighter. Lots of good info on mortar and rack safety, construction, and set up (various ways). Some good stories in there too. Also some good ideas on color schemes and themes.

Doc-

Oh heck yes the CATOs were mine. I am still testing nozzleless fuels in spiral wound tubes so that we can all find uses for the stuff we can get for free. The other rockets were by Paul and Jim, the first rocket was my oldest sons and he pressed it right before the shoot. I was doing 100% black powder on that shoot but will be integrating a lot more whistle into my rockets in the future.

THESE first two BP rockets are successful nozzleless rockets using the cheapest tubes, cheapest BP and 9000 PSI on the comp. The first is using the Universal Hybrid tooling and the second is a shortened (same length as the UH) BP spindle.

Yes, they are my two youngest at PGI, they had hands on all the JPA, crackers and flood evacuation stuff. I have four others that have all grown up and moved out of the house.

That is too cool- even the "gag reel" in that video was interesting. I've gotta get over to a PGI shoot or something to see'em up close.

The gag reel was the tubes splitting and blowing the bulkheads out and lighting the shell in place.

Good thing they were just small cylinder shells. I took the rest of them off (except for the one red star to report) after that.

Those are some nice rockets. On the music, I'd just play it a little quieter so the rockets aren't as obscured. It is cool that you're involving your kids.
