krackerjack9 Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I was looking up willow trees and there seems to be about 12 types of the buggers, and they seem to grow very very fast 10ft a year they claim so maybe 5ft.. so if one had the time which I do what willow tree is good for BP???
_DB_ Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I use Black Willow which makes very good BP. The only other Willow native to my area is the Weeping Willow but I have never tried making BP with it.
maximusg Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 The only willow that i know by sight is the Weeping varietry. I just go down to a local river and snap a few branches when i need to. Makes good BP
Pyrohawk Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 In the past when I still used Willow for my lift I always did like DB and used Black Willow. But any breed of it should be fine.....
_DB_ Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 What kind of charcoal do you use now Pyrohawk? Next time I'm out in the country I'll take a picture of the two beautys that I've been taking branches from for a few years now.
