geoffism
Whats better cotton seed or rice hulls for a burst charge? Where can i buy rice hulls and cotton seed locally? What types of stores? I would buy online but it costs to much to ship it. Thanks
Mumbles
The answer, like most things in pyro, is that it depends. Rice hulls can be used on all shells, while cotton seed is better suited toward larger shells, 6" and larger or so. They're just too big for anything smaller. Rice hulls can be found at homebrew shops. For cotton seed, well call a farm seed store, or cotton processor.

In my experience (and I live in a cotton producing State) the cotton seeds, for some odd reason, seem to be very difficult to get. The last time I saw them easy to get was from a co-op over twenty years ago (I wish I had gotten more)! Lately they seem harder to come by . When you buy a bale (huge plastic bag) of rice hulls, they should last a long time . Have fun! WSM
