would these be ok for a 3" shell?

Attached is a pic of how my stars come out pumped. I bought the star pump online and its 3/8 inch. Im thinking maybe I need to cut em in half but im not sure. Im clueless but im picking up some information slowly but surely.

 

What do you think?

They'll work, but they're probably too long. They should be approximately as long as they are wide if you're just going to burn them as is. There are some situations where a little longer is prefered

yea i was thinking the same thing. For my white stars, I may keep them long since they have a lot more oxidizer than fuel and burn fast.
