ExplosiveCoek Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Yes, how where you planning on igniting them with a 'fireproof' layer of shellac around them..?

ExplosiveCoek Posted April 2, 2011 Posted April 2, 2011 Depends on how you read 'cores', I thought he wanted to save some stars he had already rolled .
NightPainter Posted April 3, 2011 Posted April 3, 2011 Sorry for the confusion. I was just thinking out loud. Spray shellac seemed like and easy way to seal up any core (not the rolled star) which might be absorbing moisture, expanding and causing the star to crack. Shellac, not the spray, is something used in some comps which I figured might eliminate any possible compatibility issues. So to be clear I was talking about the seeds, pasta, etc. that are used for cores of rolled stars, and it still stands as a question not a suggestion. I don't really know enough to be making suggestions and I'll try to be clearer in the future.

I've used quinoa(?) seed without cracking issues, but can't comment on other seeds, pasta etc... When first rolling I started with pepper corns. They are a bit big, but worked great and I had no problems with cracking.
