Swede Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Hi TS - I created a new blog entry, tried to post it last night, and it failed... tried again this morning, same problem. Fortunately I saved it in a text file, but there's something going on with the blogs that is prohibiting new entries. Can you look into it? As always, thanks!
TheSidewinder Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 Blogs not working?!?! 0_o Yes, I'll investigate immediately. Can you tell me exactly what error occurred, though? A warning about file size, that sort of thing?
TheSidewinder Posted January 30, 2010 Posted January 30, 2010 OK, I suspect you were running up against a space limitation that was in place. Note that I said "was". Give it a try again, and let me know the result? Thanks!
Swede Posted January 31, 2010 Author Posted January 31, 2010 It's still not working. I'm clicking "New Entry" and pasting my standard blog style into the window. It previews fine, then when I click "Post new entry" it appears to pause for a moment, then up pops my last entry, which is "Day 2 of LD Anode Test." If you want, I can PM you the text for the new blog entry if you wanted to give it a shot on my blog. I even tried a simple entry with one line of text, and still no good.
TheSidewinder Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 What the bloody hell...... That makes no sense whatsoever. No error message either? And a SINGLE LINE won't post? Something is wrong somewhere. I'll investigate some more. No need to send me anything. Not yet at least.
TheSidewinder Posted February 1, 2010 Posted February 1, 2010 *facepalm* Umm... duh. It *was* a bug. Which I just fixed. You'd think with ALL the Support tickets I had at IPS bitching about this problem, I would have noticed this....... ON MY OWN FREAKING FORUM. You apparently didn't notice that the default "date of posting" was set to January xx, 2006, which is BEFORE the date that you created your Blog. Which means that the entry was simply discarded. That's because the Date Range was hard-coded to end on December 31, 2009. So, the software just "wrapped" to the beginning of the range, 2006. Try it now. You should be able to pick a posting date into 2012.
Swede Posted February 2, 2010 Author Posted February 2, 2010 DING DING DING Winner! I'll be honest, I never noticed the date wrap. Thanks for fixing it!
