eddiegnz1 Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 I have no idea what material this wok is but my guess is carbon steel. The lid is thin light aluminum the wok is thicker heavy gauge and very solid. Has a long wood handle. For now, I plan to roll only comps like Tiger Tail, C6 or Willow. All those comps would be modified by adding Lampblack as the only modification. Down the road I will add a color like violet or blue. Do you see any risks in using a wok to hand roll the way David Blesser teaches in his book and his DVD.
NightHawkInLight Posted January 10, 2010 Posted January 10, 2010 Been done that way for centuries. I know of no star composition that will become more dangerous due to slight steel or oxide contamination. I know of plenty that will rust your wok to dust, but as a safety concern, there is very little.
