Mr.Dan Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 First I know I will be banned for this but I don’t really care. I am wondering if anybody else that is even still apart of this forum have been turned off of pyro stuff because of either the administrator calling you a kewl or dumb for wanting to try new things or threats to ban you or any experiences that have discouraged you from doing pyro things. So to the administrators, I don’t think I found this thread anywhere on the forum reason for starting it. Lets see how long it will take you lock this thread and to ban me from this forum (which would just upset me so much). sarcasm See yah(really though ban me so I can get back to pyro instead of talking about it)
optimus Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Why do you need soneone to ban you so you can 'get back to pyro'? Surely you could just not... post anymore? Or am I missing something here?
sanlands Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I don't know, but this thread actually makes it seem like you do care about being banned than not.
Chris Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Umm, yes you are... To the subject...I can't remember many times when given criticism would have been unjustified. It is not uncommon at all to start pyro with kewl things, but discussion of such things simply can not be allowed here since it would lower the quality of the boards significantly. I've seen many cases of boards turning into complete jokes just because of people who won't bother to research and don't try to make things properly. However, I really can't judge those who start out with CO2 bombs and other junk simply because such information is so widely available. Safe and proper practice requires a lot of effort and many starting amateurs do not have the required resources to practice pyrotechnics safely. However, the key things is to be safe and sane. One should understand to advance from the pipebomb level, and that's exactly what we are trying to promote here. Comments might sounds harsh and intimidating from time to time, and sometimes I'm litle supprised how the moderation deals with the situation. However, the cause is good. Edit: As for example the starmine thread that got locked, I could not have imagined a better way for Mumbles to put it. The correspondance was very decent and proper. I'm actually a litle supprised that you found it offensive( if you did). After all, there was no reason to continue the discussion in it's current form
Mr.Dan Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 i am not a kewl never even built a pipebomb in my life i did post this to get banned , i feel i have been spending to much time reading on this forum and not enough in the workshop. they have been threating to ban me and i just hope this is enough to make them do it. actually is there a way to delete yourself from the forum because as long as i an a member i just feel an obligation to look at the forum every time i am on the net.
FrKoNaLeaSh1010 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Well personally I think this forum is a little uptight about what can be talked about and what cant....however this is not the only place out there for pyrotechnic information....if you dont like it...then go somewhere else to learn. No one is asking you to stay. You either adhere to the rules of the forum or leave. I dont think the administrators disencourage people to do pyro....if someone across the country can yell at you on a computer and make you stop your hobby...you weren't serious about it in the first place. I make salutes and shit all the time...but i only post about the more serious nature of pyrotechnics....you wanna talk about blowing shit up...go to totse or something. Adhere to the rules or leave.
teknix Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I doubt your going to get banned. The mods are just trying to make this forum a more serious professional fireworks forum. They are concerned about safety and that is a serious issue. It is good to spend more time reading than in the workshop especially starting out because you have to learn everything you can first before trying something. That also makes things safe. This forum is just trying to produce safe professional individuals and I think that is a great direction to push beginners. Don't take offense if a mod says something is a bad idea but look at it again and think about it and maybe redesign it becuase they might be right and it might have saved you from getting hurt.
al93535 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 First of all, stop your bitching, deal with it or start really trying to learn pyro. Mumbles did not dicourage you, I think he was rather nice in his response. He simply closed another useless thread in which the starter wanted someone to answer thier question that has been previously answered. You DO need to learn to search and read! I completely agree with Frk, if someone can stop you from doing pyro, you were not really into it anyways. I for one would like a nice neat clean forum without threads for every single question. It clutters up the forum, and it makes finidng the interesting topics harder. The rules here are not harsh. They are simple rules, which mainly ask you to search, and not post crap.
RUUUUUN Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 i am not a kewl never even built a pipebomb in my life i did post this to get banned , i feel i have been spending to much time reading on this forum and not enough in the workshop. they have been threating to ban me and i just hope this is enough to make them do it. actually is there a way to delete yourself from the forum because as long as i an a member i just feel an obligation to look at the forum every time i am on the net. Then spend more time in the workshop and stop whining about how the mods run this forum.
Mr.Dan Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 ummmmmmmmm... can sombody get me banned i find it addictive look at me i am on right now and i will continue to do so until somebody bans mei feel as though if i am a part of the forum i have to go to it every time i am on the netso can an admin end my pain here please also have u guys ever banned anyone cause this is taking a long time also i am not a real beginner i just look to alternatives to the ones that have been put in place for pyro for so long ago. so forgive me for straying from the norm. ( the forgive me part is supposed to be sarcasm) oh yah can you ban me now mumblycommon buddie what else do i have to do
al93535 Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 So Mr. Dan, if you don't want to read here, then don't come here and don't read. Its as simple as that.
Mr.Dan Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 thats the problem its addictive i cant stop pppppplllllllleeeeeeeeaaaaaassssssseeeee end my suffering now.
Mumbles Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 The last thing I want to do is get someone out of pyro, or make them leave the board. My number one goal is to keep everyone safe. This is where we came into the problem. Using a flash powder as a lift charge. Does anyone see the problem I had with this? I hardly consider this trying something new. What you are doing is rushing ahead of yourself. This is when people get hurt. If you don't have the proper materials, don't make anything. It would be like deciding to make pancakes, but you don't have flour, so you decide to replace it with powdered sugar. Learn and understand the devices you are making before experimenting with new things. I cannot stress this enough. If you don't know what you're doing, the chances are exponentially greater you will injure yourself, property, or others. I know what you mean when you say you're addicted to the forum. I'm lucky if I don't check the forum every 2 hours.
asilentbob Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 I say don't ban him, he will read, come to understand, and thank us some day.
Mr.Dan Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 do you expect a pyro to stand next to his new creation when he sets it off when i set any thing off for the first couple times i have a really long fuse and i run for the hills and see what happens and i proubly wont set my new cds on the top of it either but who knows that might just be me. you dont know if you dont try oh and the star mine with what you call flash powder worked so long as you have limited amount of stars ball mill is on the way as we speak also look at me i am still on here if you would ban me i would be off this addicting habit and out in my workshop preparing for the july 4
Mr.Dan Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 mumbly buddie why am i still not banned or deleted from the forum i thought this thread would do it but it hasnt you know you should make an example of me, show the others the awsome power of the admins by banning me so the sooner the better
asilentbob Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 How would it stop you? You are addicted to reading. There will always be something new here for you to read.
Mr.Dan Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 if i cant reply its just another website that i wouldnt be addicted to why am i still not banned c'mon
Canadian_Pyro Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I am upset with the fact that ground salute discussion is not allowed in this new forum. Sure, they are simple, and their main effect is a boom. but I dont see a reason for the lack of discussion. Ground salutes, such as polumnas are not kewl, and dont have to be. I miss threads like this: http://www.xsorbit2.com/users/apcforum/ind...&num=1081544798 sigh...

I completely agree with this, but if the mods refuse to change their positions, there are always other forums. And to the thread poster, this is just assinine...You're an attention whore. /AV/
Rogue Chemist Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 The way I see it, is that with the CPSC doing an unlawful crackdown on salute makers by whatever means necessary, it just makes sense to avoid such topics, lest they start cracking down on the information as well as the chemicals. Its not like salutes are complicated, and flash powder discussion is allowed, do we really need discussion on sticking the flash in a casing?
justanotherpyro Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 if i cant reply its just another website that i wouldnt be addicted to why am i still not banned c'mon Oh dear God you are unbelievably childish. No one is holding a gun to your head and saying that you must read the forum. Why burn bridges? If you want to go experiment, then do it. When something doesn't work come here and read up on stuff. Don't be an attention whore, put on a pity party, and try to get banned. If you won't grow the fuck up, then it would probably be a good thing that people " influence " you to quit pyro. For fucks sake man, don't be a little pussy.
Mr.Dan Posted June 17, 2006 Author Posted June 17, 2006 c'mon man is cursing really nessisary oh and mumbly told me he was not going to ban me he says i am amusing which i am sure this thread was amusing for some oh and you dont have to read this just another pyro so stop being a post w****. ha ha
asilentbob Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 You have seen the door its your choice to walk through it. Again.
