AreteVeteran Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 There is a new site on the web: PyroWiki As is obvious in the title, its a wiki-style site, but it doesnt deal in a normal realm. Its completely devoted to pure pyrotechnics. It is a tad sparse at the moment, but new articles are being added daily, and from what I've seen so far, all of them are accurate and fairly helpful to beginners and even those of us who have moderate knowledge in the field. Its a great encyclopedia, and if each of us contributes an article, it would greatly help the site. Hell I learned something while reading through the 175 and growing articles. Any and all help is appreciated... Ex Animo, /AV/
al93535 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 I am pretty sure we do not allow advertising of other sites here. But I will leave it up to Mumbles or Rooster and we will see what they want to do with this thread.
lacrima97 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 On the serious side, I have read it too, and I learned something as well. Its a neat little site that is slowly growing and has neat little comps.
AreteVeteran Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 I am pretty sure we do not allow advertising of other sites here. But I will leave it up to Mumbles or Rooster and we will see what they want to do with this thread. I would normally agree with you, but it really is an encyclopedia. They dont have advertising, so getting more traffic will get them nothing. It has helpful articles and I think that there are members on here who would not only benefit from the articles there, but who would also like to write their own. If you wanted, you could move it to the N00b section, cus it would sure help them. /AV/
brainfever Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 If moved to the newbie section, the site may be flooded with below standard quality articles. I'd wait with moving it at least untill it has 200 articles and some proper tutorials. For example shells, we could import the tutorials from here as a start if the creators of said tutorials agree. And of course mirror the tutorials from pyrowiki here aswell. All in all a very good initiative, and it gets my full support.
Mumbles Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I'm moving this to the general discussion section. As long as it is not for profit, IE no advertisments, I have no problem with it.
ADP9 Posted July 23, 2006 Posted July 23, 2006 Very nice site. I'm enjoying reading some of the articles, very informative
