What works good for recording pyro videos?

What do you guys use for recording pyro videos to share here and other places?

I want to start recording my BP rocket launches.

I did a search here, couldn't find much. I see some use digital cameras, others a camcorder. How about a cellphone? Guess I could experiment and find out the hard way but would appreciate the help to save time.

I own a cheap Samsung 4 MP digital camera. My father recently bought a 10 MP Fuji digital camera. Both have the video modes. Have not used the video modes yet.

Yes, I have been living under a rock. When I left the newspaper field in 1998 we were still using 35mm film and I was in the darkroom quite bit.

Thanks.

I personally use a Samsung PL50 digital camera for all my video's at the moment. When selecting the 'vivid' option in the 'photo style selector' it shows the colours almost like in real life. Also, no problems with focusing as long as your safety distance is proper. The only thing I dislike is the compressor on the sound. It's way too present to my taste, but that's what I'm a sound engineer for :P .

Edit: I clicked the submit button just a little to quick. See my youtube account (in my signature) for what video shot with this camera looks like. Don't mind the video's made more than 5 months ago, those are made with a S370.

Eric,

I use a Nikon D-70 for still work and a Wolverine mymovie HD video camera I got from COSTCO for $99.00. A lot of the people at PGI this last year were using the Flip HD camera.

I didn't want to make a new thread. But I'm looking for a good camcorder, since camera experts don't know what we specifically use it for, I'd figure I ask people based off their experience. I'm looking at these two, one doesn't have good low light, but the Canon has good low light with a fireworks mode, but I heard the CX550V is very good.
