Silver Streamers

Thats the stuff, -325 Sponge Ti, yeah they burn quite fast, I'll see about adding a small % of Shellac and making them 5/8-3/4". These were slightly over 3/8"

I had some D1 that was burning way too fast so I added 1% of sodium bicarbonate and it slowed it down nicely. Not that I think yours needs to be slowed down but if you want to more closely match the burn times you can try it.

Sodium bicarb would disrupt the nice silver color however. Magnesium, Strontium, or Barium carbonates could be a better source. The star is supposed to burn fast anyway. It is pretty much a bound flash. They work nicely as comets or crossettes where the sides are pasted.

Mumbles, would Sr.Carbonate work to slow it down without making it a gold color, ie. retaining the silver? I was also planning on adding some to Win26 to make for a better silver glitter?

Edit: Aww sh*t, I just realized I had half a lb of #26 with an extra 1% of Na Bicarb already mixed, guess I'll make another half a lb with the Sr Carb too.

1% Na bicarb should not make much difference in the color at all. Not if its burning over 30% Al/Ti. Plus, yellow would probably hide in the silver anyways.

Ventsi,

One thing you should try sometime is to find a glitter that uses a bicarb/carb delay and sub in different carbonates. You will find that they all have different effects. I would go with some small batches than half a pound.
