KruseMissile Posted July 26, 2009 Posted July 26, 2009 Well i bought some aluminum paste(on accident didn't know it was paste) and i don't know what i can use it in. Here is the link to it.http://www.undergroundgadgets.com/shop/pro...5cf564dda7290b7
Mumbles Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 How can you not know that was a paste? And furthermore, why would you buy something if you had no use in mind for it? I've heard stirring it with some mineral spirits, acetone, lacquer thinner, etc and then decanting off the liquid will return it to a relatively free flowing powder. I've also heard you can light it on fire and burn off some of the solvent.
NightHawkInLight Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 That actually looks like a darn cheap way to get Al powder. Looks like it would be great for large stars.
Ventsi Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 (edited) Thats pretty much what I do in my blog, although you need some serious screens to break up the super tiny clumps, or milll the Al with one of the fuels. The stuff spreads in really easily with some acetone, or simular. Was this the paste Cracker sells? Edit: Oh I see, it is from him nvm. then. Edited July 27, 2009 by Ventsi
Mumbles Posted July 27, 2009 Posted July 27, 2009 Cracker sells very good Al without the need to wash and all that stuff. There were at least a dozen of bright flakes available the last time I checked, just because of the business he is in.
KruseMissile Posted July 27, 2009 Author Posted July 27, 2009 ok ill use Ventsi's tutorial. thanks for the help!
