Seymour Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 YouTube | Broadcast Yourself™ The following video(s) from your account have been disabled for violating the YouTube Community Guidelines: * Spinning titanium rocket - (PakehaPyro) Your account has received one Community Guidelines warning sanction, which will expire in six months. Additional violations may result in the temporary disabling of your ability to post content to YouTube and/or the termination of your account. For your reference, a copy of this message has also been emailed to the address associated with this account.Sincerely, The YouTube Team So the video was an end burner with a little Titanium in the fuel and some Ti flash in the header. Not exactly state of the art pyro, but no M-8O! There was some barely audible swearing. "oh f**k!". I was not aware that that was a problem on youtube. The description was a real description. I know some people, obsessive about how many views they get write "B*MB, massive explosion, KNO3, terrorist" and so on so forth. If I had done this I would expect the video to be taken down, but I detest this and would never do it. The description was "Greenmix endburner with Titanium in fuel and 1-0g Titanium salute" WHAT DID I DO WRONG!! I know other people have been hit by youtube. What do you all think? I've emailed them requesting that they clarify the accusations they made above. Lets see what they say, if they are so kind as to reply.
Yankie Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Whoever it is seems to be targeting salutes and rockets... I am glad they haven't got to me yet, and I hope they don't. We need to find out who is doing this and stick a salute rocket where the sun don't shine.
FrankRizzo Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 Use a site designed with hosting pyro videos in mind. One such service is PyroTube.com, run by the fellow that owns pyrodirect.com.
TrueBluePyro Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 yeah this has happened to me as well a little while ago, the video they took down was, my "how to make a firework film canister shell" and my rocket on a wire video is flagged and i think that some of my other ones are to, its stupid, I mean there are heaps of worst things out there and I bet youtube doesnt even look at them?
Miech Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I just looked up the community guidelines on Youtube, here. You might actually have violated these terms and conditions by posting a video showing a salute rocket, given the following conditions:Don't post videos showing bad stuff like animal abuse, drug abuse, under-age drinking and smoking, or bomb making.andWhile it might not seem fair to say you can’t show something because of what viewers theoretically might do in response, we draw the line at content that’s intended to incite violence or encourage dangerous, illegal activities that have an inherent risk of serious physical harm or death. This means not posting videos on things like instructional bomb making, ninja assassin training, sniper attacks, videos that train terrorists, or tips on illegal street racing. Any depictions like these should be educational or documentary and shouldn’t be designed to help or encourage others to imitate them. Since non-pyrotechnicians rarely see the difference between bomb making and pyrotechnics, I can imagine your video got removed. Bomb making is mentioned quite a lot in the above two quotes (bold). Given the last line of the second quote (cursive), there is actually a way of showing pyro stuff anyway, but you'll need to present it in an educational manner.
Richtee Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 StompStompStompStompStomp... Jackboots are coming. I learned the hard way.
swervedriver Posted April 26, 2009 Posted April 26, 2009 I can't understand why yours would be deleted. For example, on youtube, a search for "How to make m80s" actually gives an automatic youtube clickable search suggestion for that specific search phrase even before I finished typing it. There is a video provided by youtubes search suggestion describing where to source components, how to assemble several hundred or thousand of them, and at the end of the video even let's the entrepreneur know how much he can sell them for on the street, by the piece or bulk amounts... something's amiss...
FrankRizzo Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Someone saw the video, didn't like it, reported the video, and YouTube censored the poster. Simple as that. That there are other videos still available with more controversial content only means they haven't' been reported yet. The moderators take a "remove, then ask questions" approach, mostly because of the pornography that's posted there hourly.
Seymour Posted April 27, 2009 Author Posted April 27, 2009 A second video has been removed. What can I do? I know I can stop using youtube, but I am determined to get an answer for why they are taking them down! They (my videos) simply do not break the community guidelines!
Pretty green flame Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 A second video has been removed. What can I do? I know I can stop using youtube, but I am determined to get an answer for why they are taking them down! They (my videos) simply do not break the community guidelines! Someone doesn't like you on Youtube so they're reporting you, and as Frank said, it's youtube's policy to delete first and ask questions later.
FrankRizzo Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 Good luck. They're about as customer service friendly as eBay. They do whatever the hell they want.
scrappy Posted April 27, 2009 Posted April 27, 2009 i've never known of that to happen and can't quite get my head around the blatant hypocrisy, pyrobin is another you could look at, ( united we stand, divided we fall ) but considering the millions on youtube, we would still fall united, if you had the time, like the rest of us amature pyros' " yea right" you could perhaps even try " Pakeha tube"
TrueBluePyro Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 Ok sweet. Rugby training is over. I do what ever i need to and then jump onto the coputer open internet and type in youtube. TheSidewinder Posted April 28, 2009 Posted April 28, 2009 TBP, You can upload them HERE. Go make a Gallery Album for them (or put them in the Downloads). We have almost no space restrictions at our Host. I set up "local" restrictions, by Group, some time ago. But they can be changed if anyone feels that they need more space, as long as the materials are pyro or chem related.

Mumbles Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 There are worse things in the world that losing a small youtube following. Someone probably reported one of your posts, and they looked at all your videos and thus got subsequent warnings without time to go and remove anything "objectionable".
TrueBluePyro Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Narh, that is the 3rd video that has been delete from my account, something about it being within 6 months. Oh yeah and I know its not the worst thing in the world, it just a joke. Edited April 30, 2009 by TrueBluePyro

Swede Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Dude... Start a blog, RIGHT HERE ON APC. Screw u-boobtoob. Besides, here you'll get better input from real pyrotechnicians, not just k3wls. Edited April 30, 2009 by Swede
TheSidewinder Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 Yes, folks, Swede is 100% correct! Our Gallery and Blog (as well as Download) modules are much underused here. Start storing your videos and pictures at APC, and they're guaranteed to be here when you want to see them! If you can get to APC, you can get to the stored media. And if anyone finds that they don't have enough room? Let us know. If the media you've contributed is pyro-related, we'll let you store more of it.
Ventsi Posted April 30, 2009 Posted April 30, 2009 (edited) Yeah youtube has been pretty &^%$#**% lately. I like my account and I'd like to keep it.I guess inm going to have to start deleting my old videos[smoke bombs, underground charges etc]. For now ill just try to avoid any words like salute ,kewl, boom and so on. Sidewinder ,the APC upload thingy. doesnt let me post because my videos are "too big" .My videos are usually around 15MG? Time to start testing. Edited April 30, 2009 by Ventsi
TheSidewinder Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 I'll increase the file size limits, Ventsi. I originally kept them small because I had NO idea whether we'd get swamped. Turns out we haven't.
TheSidewinder Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 OK, I bumped them up. Let us know if more is needed.
Ventsi Posted May 1, 2009 Posted May 1, 2009 Thanks but it seems I can't upload Movie Clips (.MOD).Is there a way you can allow the filehost accept them?
