Zumber
You can replace dextrin with SGRS without any problem. Try TT+ 15% atomized aluminum or Hardt streamer composition also dont forget to use boric acid to prevent aluminum & nitrate reaction.

Mumbles
I've always found the KNO3 based white formulas a little hard to light, or at least stay lit. There is a difference between not lighting at all, and blowing out because they're traveling too fast. The end result is the same, but the solution is different. Anything that ensures the cores light certainly isn't a waste. I'd rather go overboard and use up a little expensive metal than risk the cores lighting poorly. At 5% Al you'll barely use any anyway. Even with a kilo of stars using heavy priming, you'd be using at most about 10g of Al. Dextrin and SGRS can be used interchangeably as a binder. They will have different working properties, but they're both proficient at binding in the same quantities.

Ubehage
WOW! A Lot of great formulas to experiment with! Thanks Everyone. I second that. However, Mg is not an option for me. It is available, but so far I don't feel like I have the required workshop to store that..I wonder if MgAl will perform as well, in these formulas.
