Steps Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Was curious to know if copper (I) Oxide could replace Copper (II) Oxide. Both are easy enough to get and i have plenty of the (II) oxide. Was just curious if copper was a better colour donor as it has a higher % of copper then the (II) Oxide.
Mumbles Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I've heard of a few people say that you can indeed replace it 1:1 for copper (II) oxide. I've however not heard of any increase or decrease in color quality. You can try it if you want, but realize that any good formula is already tweaked for optimal performance from CuO with an good excess of chlorine. There should be more than enough to go around.
