RUUUUUN
hehehe, I am not eating thanksgiving until tomorrow, some family members are going to be gone for the family get-together so we pushed it off until tomorrow. On a brighter note, it is snow/slush/raining here. With any bad luck we will have snow in a few hours and by tomorrow no one will be able to get up our driveway.

pa_pyro
Although we seem to know what your going to use it for from most of your semi-kewlish posts, what is wrong with straight out telling us you want it for flashpowder? On another note, I'm am thinking of buying a 10 lb lot of hexamine and only need about 2 or 3 pounds of it. If anyone needs hexamine just list/pm the amounts you want, and I'll try to give a reasonable price. If enough people request some, I'll purchase the 10 lb. lot. pa_pyro
I don't have to tell you guys what I'm using it for.  I thought you meant that in a way meaning it was obvious what you were using it for...sorry for misinterpreting. Anyway, this came with a few extras with my distilling glassware and I have no clue what its use is. I used blue color to point out the inner tube .

Defiant Pyro
Hey everyone, it's been awhile since I've checked these forums/pyro forums in general and it kind of sucks that it's not like the "hayday" of pyro on the web. Ohwell, I'm probably just thinking that since I haven't been into it as much as of late. Anyways.. Earlier this summer I threw out all my chems because I got paranoid having to move my chems from a shed in the middle of the country to my bedroom to store them. I'm wanting to order a couple chems (high mesh AL being one of them) for New Years Eve and I was wondering what was the best site for that nowadays. I was one of the lucky ones who got a friendly letter from the DOJ a long time ago and I would prefer not to get another one. I was looking around the supplier reviews section and noticed pyroaluminum is down, discount pyro is out and pyrohobby is no more. I guess it's down to Firefox even though I know that it was one of the biggest targets of the CPSC not including the fact I've never ordered from there before. So do you recommend Firefox or does anyone have any better ideas? Thanks.. I'm exited knowing that I'll be having fun this New Years doing what I loved doing for years and still love today. I'm busy with other hobbies and life to do pyro that often and will be saving it for special events like NYE and the 4th.

I wonder who gave up thier customer list to the BATFE for that deal. As far as I know, no one ever got anything but the letter, and the PGI lawyers determined it was a scare tactic anyway. Still, it confirms you are on "the list". Firefox case with CPSC goes to court next February, I believe. In the meantime, they are still a reputable supplier of amateur pyro supplies. Skylighter is chugging along, overcharging but reliable. In both cases, they will not sell dark aluminum nor strong oxidizers on a first order. You need to order some 'mainstream' items first time, then there are annual limits on what they will sell you.

That's the only company I ever ordered from that was kind of shady. Not to mention the fact that I ordered from them years ago when they had m-80 tutorials on their site along with all the chems and supplies you need to make them.  I wish that you could have a site that showed how to make stuff like that along with the supplies to make them but unfortunatly we don't live in a world like that and so suppliers REALLY need to be more responsible. Showing something like that in court even after they stopped doing it looks very bad.
psymon
There is a bloke around the corner from where I live and every year he decorates his house with lights. And he has this grand switch on with a fireworks display. He does it for charity so I guess you can't have a moan about the waste of electric with over 100,000 incandescent bulbs over his house. The cakes were nice, anyone else know a person who goes mad with christmas decorations?
Chemguy
When I was young about 8, we went looking through all the lit up houses at christmas in wellington. (A city in NZ where I used to live) Some of the were very hardcore!  Anyway I have just got home from Level one NCEA science, and the excellence question (one of them) was: Balance this equation-HCl + K2CO3 ---> KCl + CO2 + H2O. It's a joke! asilentbob
For anyone who may have noticed my lack of activity, it as been a hectic november. Then i made it more hectic by joining a contest to write a 50,000 word novel (~100pgs) in the month of november. I entered late too, im around 32,000 (about 60 pages) now and yea 3 days isn't exactly alot of time. National Novel Writing Month Essentially the idea is that alot of people have always wanted to write a novel but feel like they suck at writing and wont actually ever start... so by just jumping into it and giving yourself a deadline that you have to write pretty much everyday to reach it forces you to contend with it and actually write. When i started i thought it would suck since i don't like essays, but after writing like 60 pages of dialog, scene discriptions, and imaginative fictional futuristic history... My writing has improved in leaps and bounds. Plus wouldn't it just be badass to be able to truthfully say that you have written a novel? Very few people can really say that. I also had bastard long essays to do for US:History (finished) and English... Then drawings to do for Drawing and a painting or 2 or 3 for Design. Tis a bitch. However, i believe i can persever! I WILL DO IT!!! Even if i have to stay up night and day constantly making that next batch of coffee for the little time that i have left!!! ...Chem wise:My parents are backing alot of my homebrew expenses and im likely to get a good deal more for xmas. I want to delve into yeast culturing a bit so that ill always have some ready and activated to dump into a must. Also isolating wild strains from honey and maybe grape skins. ...Pyro wise:I now have a wooden hydralic press frame! I need to order chemicals, fuse, hemis, mortors, and tooling. I need to go ahead and mail in my PGI thing so i will be joined up for next year. I need to set aside some time in december to prime a bunch of cut stars and assemble a bunch of stuff. Still need my damn KNO3! I have a great source idea, but i don't know if they would sell it to me/parents/parents business yet.

asilentbob
Well, gave up on the novel at the last 2 hours becaus i know for a fact that i can't write 8,000 words in 2 hours... *sigh* well, atleast now i have time to do my homework and when thats done i can finally have some time to hopefully do some pyro. You gotta look on the brightside... mr.pyro
Thats pretty cool that you are writing a novel... I wish I had that kind of motivation. Â I also just finished a wooden press. It holds up really nicely. If you need kno3 I have a shitload so just PM me.
ewest
You gotta look on the brightside... Don't give up now. Even if you can't complete it for the competition, at least you can finish it and say you're a novelist. Â Oh yeah, whenever I hear someone mention "Look on the bright side" I immediately think of the old Monty Python movie "Life of Brian" There's a song at the end where Brian's being crucified and everyone starts singing "Look on the briiiiight siiiiide of life"
AprenticeChemist
Well hows everyone doing? Doubt anyone remembers me I havent posted in so damn long. I just wanted to stop by and say hey and see if anyone has a link to Chaz's hosting site? I know I had a few videos hosted there and wanted to get them as my mother erased EVERYTHING from our computer a week or two ago on accident meaning I lost all my videos. Â So hows everyone been hoping no hurts or arrests?
rocket
Hey guys what do you think of the colour of this green flash?I use homemade Ba(NO3)2, Mg powder and PVC pipe powder. Video: http://www.apcforum.net/files/BanNO3n2MgSalute.MOV
fizeau
I think it's rather green on the circumference. Have you ever tried to soak PVC pipe snips in acetone? In my experience it helps a lot by mixing with Mg powder.

After you left for a while way back when, Chaz's host crapped itself and lost the contents. We have a new one set up with a thread in this section, but it doesn't have any of the old vids. One of the vets might have your videos if you posted them, so you might want to ask them.
Mumbles
It's hard to tell with that flash powder because it's on grass, which is already green. One of the best ways to tell is to place a small unconfined pile and light a fuse to it. Put your back to it and hold up a piece of white paper and watch that.
