Surely with this scale you could mix a 10gram batch with good accuracy, or am I missing something here?

If you wish to be taken seriously, brush up on grammar and punctuation, then post something intelligent. You have yet to do that in your 45 mostly one-sentence posts. My neighbor kid next door does better than that, and she's 11.

If you made and sold those flash salutes, *AND* had all the necessary permits, I'm amazed they issued them to you in the first place.

Well, i dont have permits but i only sell to one person and that is a relitve who owns a fire work shop. So yes i realise selling them is wrong but i feel comfortable dont think i go selling to random people or 12yr old little kids.

BigBang: I think its a script, its an automated bot who joins and then posts the crap in the first 'general' section which is general chemistry. If we had one of the random letter boxes that you have to look at and then type in order to register or log in, the problem would be solved. Another alternative would be to change the names of the sections.

I disagree a bot cant see it like that it looks for a specific forum id so it may post in all forum id's of 3 it is possible the spammer saw this happening (if they monitor forums they spam) and is now doing it by hand hopin admins will give up and remove box.

Or it is a old member who hates the place trying to mess with heads...

In other news I am still swollen as fuck, and sore, and I have run out of my 30mg codiene tablets, so now I am getting 12.8mg codiene with 200mg ibuprofen to make the swelling go down (hopefully).

 

I am going back to school tomorrow, I have metalwork first so I should be able to finish my press, all it needs are springs and a paint job, but then again, I don't have the springs yet so I probably wont finish

I too have purchased a rock tumbler from harbor freight and plan on using nickels(American) as a milling media. Is milling Potassium Chlorate with nickels a safe thing to do? I'm only asking cause Potassium Chlorate is a heck of a lot more reactive than Potassium Nitrate...

I would avoid nickel contamination in anything. Nickel(finely divided) and its compounds are all classified as carcinogens. Sure the ammounts in the compositions would be very low, but it is not something I would want around me. You would not want to smell the smoke of anything milled with these.

Get a Brass rod, 1/2" diameter, cut off 1/2" pieces, sand the cut edges smooth. That's going to be the best non-toxic media you can get, for a tumbler of that size. Lead is problematic, as you've seen, and Nickel really IS bad news.

 

Umm... but I think our "nickels" actually contain very little or NO elemental Nickel. IIRC, they're an alloy of Al and some other metal(s).

Hey, I was given about 4 neon sign transformers and I've built a Crockton Walton cascade multiplier or something like that, and I am pulling 3-5inch sparks! Oh, yeah, I recieved an exellent shock as well. 1mA at 12kV. Tingly!

Well I just tried coins for heck of it. I milled some potassium nitrate (around .5lbs) and ended up with .5grams-1grams of powdered nitrate (eyeballed). I only lost a couple hours of time but hey I still have $4 just in coins though... I will now invest in some brass rod.

Does anyone here think that if I buy a coffee grinder from walmart I can grind some garden sulfur up into powder? I've been using a mortar and pestle, it sucks. Also, I read that little balls of aluminum foil could be turned into powder using a coffee grinder. I thought aluminum foil was impure.

I just want to use it for fountains and rockets. Thanks

Unfortunately Swany, indeed it *is* KNO3. There are actually two different methods of computing NPK values, one uses the percentage of K2O while the other is simply the molecular weight percentage of potassium itself.

 

Good agricultural grade KNO3 can have numbers:

 

13.75 - 0 - 46

Or

13.75 - 0 - 38.6
