I've seen that movie, a really sick show. Is this part of the fireworks festival in Valencia ?

Yeah it is. I just showed my brother, he lived in spain for two years. About 8 months of it in Valencia, he recognized a lot of the stuff in the video because it was the main celebration that he has been to. He was excited telling me how much of a party it is. They do shows like that for a week long, every day at 1-2pm. The whole week they build huge statues in the streets as well, the statues are wooden and stand around 30 feet tall. On the last day at midnight they burn them all! My bro said if you want to go to a good party hit that one! He also commented that it was so loud he felt a deep pain inside his head the entire time.

How can this show be legal?

There are people standing close to the fireworks, the air booms are shot between two close buildings in the middle of the city and in all this movie I didn't saw even one cop or ambulance/

It's legal in Spain, apparently. :D

DAMN nice video, btw.

I was just reading through the old forum, and personally, I like it FAR more than this one. What happened?

The old one had to be renewed due to many different issues. Some old good posters have not been around too much since. What I like about the new forum is that people post more images and videos, and we fixed the competitions better. When we get the Info Pool up and running, we will have even another thing to be happy about.

Ya I saw that video as well. Thats very dangerous..and those are kinda big as well

I like the new board better. It just...feels...right.

Toady was my last day of school so I have started working on my liquid fireballs. Also I have chemistry next year so does anyone know of a good online chemistry-textbook for some summer reading? I have the Handbook of preparative inorganic chemistry and Practical Organic Chemistry by Arthur I. Vogel, that's it :(

I was having my doubts about this board at first. The more I am here, the more I like it though. There are still things that need to be fixed though. I love the HE section so much better the way it is. There is a lot less posting, which isn't the best, but the projects and level of discussion is leaps and bounds ahead of where it was before. About the only thing lacking is some dumbass mentioning something just, well dumb, and we get a good tangent going about something else. See this thread for instance: http://www.xsorbit2.com/users/apcforum/ind...&num=1082380562 It's not HE, but the concept still works.

If you look at the new posts and new members at the old board, you will see why this one may not seem as great as the old one. We just are not getting the influx of intelligent people, or at least experienced people, who may be able to help instead of just asking stupid stuff due to not searching. I always test my stuff and proceedures before posting my own personal projects. School has been busy, and I have been away from home since the incarnation of this board, so that puts a damper on that. Over the summer I hope to get some things together and spark some intelligent conversation, and maybe even draw some new people in.

Mumbles maybe you could have a pop up or something like that and have it come up when ever someone goes to the old forum. That way people are notified as soon as they go to old forum that there's a new forum, so you don't have to keep saying "We have moved to a different location". Just a thought.

About boric acid (orthoboraic acid?), can roach killer be used as an otc? It says 99% pure in ingredient list. Is this stuff good enough for adding to nitrate/al combinations?

Ive just been told that a man has been arrested here in the UK for having Ammonium sulphate, HCl and sulphur in his possession. I dont see why he was arrested though, he could of been cleaning his pool, ferilising his lawn and keeping the pH in his garden down. Man, the police would flip if they saw my lab.

Edit: Apparently he also had H2O2

Well I am happy, I just went down to the local lumber yard and asked them if they had any scrap white pine (aka spruce) wood they would be willing to sell me for a reasonable price, and the salesperson said sure, and went into the back room. They came back carrying 7 8ft long 2x4s that they could not sell for regular price due to the fact that they were severely cracked, and they told me I could take them all for 5 bucks. So I now have enough wood to make a TON of charcoal which should last me forever.

Well, this is pretty random, and funny.

Apparantly Pat Robinson is the strongest man alive. For those of you unaware of who he is, Pat Robinson is a televangelist in the US. He is the president of the Christian Coalition, head of the 700 club, and owns some TV statiions.

Wow, 76 years old and leg pressing 1 ton. That is impressive! Today I spent some of my graduation gift cards at Target. Most 18 year old guys will go out and buy cigs, cd's, movies, games... I go out and blow it on Tupperware, kitchen strainers, and Pyrex! Gata love pyro.

I did my bi-weekly lab cleaning today and I have a lot of powder sitting out on newspaper which isn't very safe, considering my dad just lit our entire sink on fire with paint thinner and had to use the fire extinguisher for the first time. Luckily the sink is across our shop from my lab, but I have several pounds of lift powder and 3-4 pounds of stars laying out open on a table. I can't imagine what would happen if that stuff lit up. Time to use my new tupperware.

Ok, I'm sure atleast somone on here has seen the new Navy Seals Commercial. It shows a bach at night...then gets dark... then lights up and you see footsteps from the water and finally the waves wash the footprints away. If youve seen the commercial then you know what I mean.

Anyhow, I want to see that commercial and show someone so is there any place online I can see it at?? I figured there would be an archive for TV commercials somewhere..... But a couple hours of searching yielded no results.

Oh and I just shot a shell and am pissed because the stars were blown blind.

So is anybody doing anything special for this Memorial Day weekend? I know some people in my neighborhood did. They lit off about a dozen aerial shells and about a half brick of firecrackers all night last night. It was kinda annoying but cool in a way knowing that I'm not the only pyro. B)

Ok I've been looking through some of the threads recently and I am seeing a lot of noobs being flamed. And no instantly diverting them to google doesn't really count...well maybe if they keep whining. Can we atleast give them some decent advice before flaming the shit out of them? I mean one of these fools come here for help and get flamed. Then without proper know-how he/she <--(yeah right). Does something stupid and ends up getting seriouly hurt and maybe even dies. And what is a dead or hurt noob?.....anybody?.......anyone at all?

IT is just more ammo for psychotic soccer moms in their battle against us. So please Flame responsibly.

Sick of being flamed, huh?

Any one here got experience using guar gum or maltodextrin as binders?

Both of them use water as solvent, so is there any reason using on of them instead of dextrine?

Posted

A couple of people on Passfire or rec.pyro use it. One says Guar Gum is better than dextrin. He says you need less of it, for one thing, and it dries harder than dextrin, for another.

I have a pound of that, plus gum arabic, cellulose acetate, NC powder, etc, that I will be experimenting with as a dextrin substitute, sometime in the future.

I just ate a whole red savina habanero. The stinging in the mouth is over in 10 minutes, and I can handle that, but the stomach was sooo bad. I had to put my finger in my throat after an hour, the pain was fucking unbearable.

The pain from the stomach made me drip from both my eyes and my nose, similarly to the way the chilli does in the mouth. God damn, its half an hour since I puked, and still hurts.

Stupid, you say? I say rather a stupid bet between me and my roommate. Won me 20$ though. And I proved I am a real man. It is eating a whole habanero that counts, no matter what happens afterwards.

Me and my friends decided to bring about 5 habeneros (not sure what kind but very hot) to school one day. We ended up betting three dollars for a kid to eat about half of the pepper and he did (that was funny). Then went around to see if anybody at other tables would and found a freshman that would eat this mild pepper ;) . Boy was he suprised to find out how hot it was, he ate the whole thing at once! The whole lunch of about 300 kinds was staring at him. HE ended up getting like 15 dollars and about 5 milks. Still makes me laugh today.
