Pyrohawk
Ok guys well.....I need a new camera. My old one is nice, but its not got a very good video function. It takes nice pictures but the videos are really low quality.... When taking fireworks it won't show colors very well and refuses to show chrysanthemum stars at all. Also it has no sound. It is a Kodak Easyshare CX7300. So here are two camera's I found in the store I work (so I will get a 15% discount). Anyone know if any of these take nice videos or have one they suggest thats not there? The camera must take pictures, have a good video function with audio, and show fireworks well. Also I won't spend anymore than the $157US camera that is down there. HP Photosmart M22 $125US4.0 M.P, video +audio 6x zoom Kodak Easyshare C330 $157US4.0 M.P., video + audio 3x Zoom
justanotherpyro
I know that a good video speed is 20fps and really good is 30.
Pretty green flame
I recorded the entire episode and im going to edit commercials and compress it. If anybody has a server ide be willing to upload it for everyone. Please, host the episode, somewhere, ANYWHEREEEE. There's a whole lot of discussion on rec.pyro regarding their nitration process. This makes me want to see how they screwed up.

HP Photosmart M22 $125US4.0 M.P, video +audio 6x zoom Kodak Easyshare C330 $157US4.0 M.P., video + audio 3x Zoom Ok, I looked up those two cameras and none of them say anything about Frames/sec. You'll want to know this, also, you'll want to consider what format the video is saved as. The Kodak saves in a quicktime format (QVGA ".mov") and the HP is in MPEG format. Mpegs are usually easier to deal with, but its up to you. Also, the higher the optical zoom within your budget the better. You do understand the concept of digital zoom correct? I used to work at staples, alot of cameras come in a package with a flash card included so you don't have to buy one, of course you don't really have to buy one anyway. Generally almost all cameras come with a minimum 16Mb internal memory, but the higher the Megapixel the more space each picture will take, but in your case with video, its almost always recorded 640x480 so it doesn't matter. ANd sound is sound, they all come with sound these days. To get the best sound, hook up an external mic. Hope that helps!
PyroJoe
I have edited and compressed the mythbusters episode. It is a .wmv file, 36 minutes long, and 160mb's. If anyone has a server I can upload it to, that would be great. I have a free server with 250mb of space, but they have a 5mb file size limit. Mumbles
Try compressing, and splitting, then uploadin to Rapidshare or something.
Swany
Their nitration proccess was apparently dumping a liter of HNO3 and a liter of H2SO4 togeather and then tossing the pants-debuttoned-in.
Pyrohawk
Thank you Jackson. I am looking for a recomendation though mainly. Are either of those any good? I'm not going into photography....I just want a nice camera to view fireworks with. The frames per second thing is a good point....I don't know how to find it though.... So anyone have a good firework camera to recomend thats within my budget?

Then when she nitrated the small square she soaked it for about 3 seconds and then wondered why it didnt burn later. That red headed chick is an idiot... I squirmed in my chair when i saw her dumping those acids on each other... Not a cube of ice in sight. "Oh this stuff is nasty" .... Insulting... maximusg
You know, i was thinking about that.... and after you look at her for a while... she gets less hot, and more annoying.... I concluded that she is semi- hot.
dragonman586
I'm with zeppelin. She's hot. Maybe she needs some knowlege knocked into her. But if it's just on looks she is HOT!
Zeppelin
Yeah, stupid but hot. Now if she knew how to do it right she would be perfect P.S Has anyone been having troubles with the board today? It keeps telling me that the connection was refused, but works with 2 or 3 refreshes. Edit: Pyrojoe, If you would like you can transfer it to me via msn and I will send it to anyone that wants it... via msn. jonny2940@hotmail.com
PyroJoe
My internet filter blocks rapidshare and file sharing sites, but I have shared the file using bearshare. Which is on the gnuetella network. If anybody has a client that uses the gnuetella network you should be able to download it off me. Here is the bearshare magnet url. magnet:?xt=urn:sha1:3CKZN3HDFGUKHSHRJRWVHH643MHHWYAP&dn=Mythbusters%20-%20Exploding%20pants%20(May%2010th%202006).wmv Copy and paste the URL into the search box on your prorgam and it should find it. Someone tell me if it can or can't find it or something, to make sure it works.
Mr. Crackle
There is a person at Totse using the name jungle. I'm a different person. Other than that track is over so I will have more time to perfect my black powder rockets before the fourth arrives. p.s. I need inspiration for an avitar, any advice?. Swany
I am particularily fond of finding a rather amusing picture with some hidden personal meanings that clashes horribly with the board colors, but that's just me. I have a consistant and easy way to reduce TNP to picramic acid coming along quite soon, finish up today.
aquaman
Dan Williams site just expired. That sucks I liked his site. He had alot of good information on it. Hope that he brings it back up again. This is his SITE right? Or did he move it?
RUUUUUN
What Swany is trying to say is: "I like putting WAY to much lift into a tube and not a long enough fuse, and having it go off at about 5 feet, WHILE my buddy is watching with the camera, and then naming it something like 'too much lift'" when the reall problem was fuse length.Hey swany, you could give him that pic, makes a nice avatar, especially if you can ID the thing trying to traction in the snow, with shorts on! your current avatar doesn't clash with the board colors, but BOY does it have a message. Mumbles
Yes, that is Dan Williams' site. As far as avatars, just make sure it isn't animated. I just found mine on some site, annexed it, and colored in the background to make the fire man stand out more and make it seem more menacing. Black goes with everything so I don't have to worry about clashing.
Mr. Crackle
Yeah I saw swany's exploding comet picture, but I have decided I will try to make a nice wheel and take a picture. Oh and I think I will enter one of the competitions this month, but they dont seem that popular. Hopefully as the fourth comes closer more people will enter. Swany
Most of the Americans/Canadians are feverishly busy with school, as it is finishing up. After school, I see an influx of people and devices.
Pyrohawk
That is my plan.... I am busy with school and work so I havn't been able to do much. But as soon as school is over I plan on doing a great many things/projects. This summer I wnat to start by building some stuff for the 4th of course. But my plans after that include getting more into Model/High Power Rocketry. I'm gonna try and buy some stuff to be able to record some measurements and learn some stuff about it. I built a Model rocket a while back that will fly on a G motor just to learn on.....but have never tested it!
asilentbob
School is closing up for me, but i gotta go on some stupid week long trip immediatly after, then mabey i can do some pyro...
