Mumbles
If they use another IP adress and email, how do you know that they are the same people? Do they use the same usernames, or do you draw the conclusion that they are the same people from the style of their posts, or do they post from a specific location? A lot of these people in question seem to be automatically banned by the forum. I'm not actively seeking them out, nor banning them myself. They'd have to actually make any posts for me to be able to make connections based on posting styles or ip addresses. There are a few members whom I know are here on a second chance already unrelated to spamming. I'm honestly not sure why this is happening. For instance, this is the newest member on the forum. http://www.amateurpyro.com/forums/user/12522-gvintemitompw/ He registered about 9hr ago. I did nothing, but he's already banned. Looking at the username would make me guess it's a spammer instantly. They frequently show up with randomly generated member names. The e-mail address seems reasonable however. It's only really obvious when you see something like John@buycheapviagra.net do you really know for sure. Maybe in the processes of flagging people as spammers, the forum is learning how to catch them before they get a chance to post. I've heard a rumor that they may be gathered by the company who makes the software for the forum software to collectively stop them across the web. I'd imagine if this was true that they'd only really auto-ban certain things that were reported by numerous different places.
TheSidewinder
That's actually the IPS Spam Service, which catches them as they register and immediately bans them.

RUUUUUN
Hello world, I'm back. Man, it has been a minute since I made or synthed anything. Should be getting back to my lab in the next couple months, just in time to frantically throw some stuff together for the fourth. There are a lot of random new faces around this joint, step out of the game for nearly 4 years and most everyone has moved on to bigger and better things... On a more serious note, PCP is one hell of a drug, pretty common for people who use it to go batshit insane and start doing some seriously fu**ed up shit. Side note, just thought i'd drop in and check out APC to see whats going on, still waiting for that new workshop, when that's done, fireworks activities shall resume

flying fish
I've been kind of obsessed with waterfall shells lately (I already bought 4 cases of 1.4 waterfall cakes this year!) I was just contemplating how I would make them. It seems pretty straitforward, take Ti/Charcoal streamer stars and load them into one end of a very light breaking canister shell, with a short time fuse. Is there anything that I'm missing? Mumbles
The westech manual has some info. The way Mr. Degn describes making them is a little different than a traditional canister. The burst is loaded all into one end of the shell where the fuse is, and the stars are in the other side, almost like how a mine is setup. Then when you're spiking the shell, go as normal for the vertical passes, but put a heavy spiking around the section containing the burst, and normal to light spiking around the end with the stars. This is supposed to ensure the stars burst from one end of the shell. I don't recall where I saw it, but I've also seen people recommend cutting every other or every third vertical on the bottom so there is really no choice but to burst out one end. I don't have much knowledge of commercial waterfall shells, but I'd imagine most are just weakly broken ball shells with short delay fuses. They don't seem to look like a hose break from a canister, which is what I expect the above would appear as.
nater
We shot a few commercial 10" waterfall shells last weekend. These were ball shells that were a little light for a 10. They burst at the appropriate height, as opposed to ascending. To me that suggests a normal length time fuse. I don't know about their construction, but my guess would be they are assembled as a Poka shell. Edited June 1, 2012 by nater
flying fish
Thanks! I did a little more digging and I did find a thread on the topic on another forum... http://www.pyrosociety.org.uk/forum/topic/6111-horsetail-shells/ Seems like I have a lot of ideas that I can try. mormanman
How is everyone? I took a break but i may be back for a while. I hope. A lot has changed, with me and with this site. I like it more now. Mumbles if you read this, I hope you are recovering well if not fully recovered. It shocked me when I read it. Also I am indeed more mature, or maybe I shouldn't judge myself on that. Luckily, I held on to all my old tools. I got a new job as a machinist and if anyone needs help with making rocket tools on a lathe I'll be more than happy to help if I can. I don't mean to pull all the attention off what was being discussed. Also, if anyone is here from when I was here before I would like to apologize for being a post whore.
