stress has horribly carcinogenic affects many people speculate that a wiff of benzene daily would be far safer than the stress levels many of us have many people have been drinking these for years and they lived long lives if you like it drink it if your worried limit your intake (not like your going to be drinking a litre of root beer each day)

A wise man once told me: Eat what's on your plate drink what ever comes to your mouth love God and you may live as long as me (this was on his 95th birthday)

Great quote. My great grandmother ate more bacon, salt and butter than anyone I've ever met and she lived to 102. Stress sure is a bigger killer than rootbeer I'm sure.

Very true! From my opinion, just the worrying about the foods you eat is more harmful than eating what you like.

My grandfather lived to be 100, ate bisquits, gravy, and bacon every morning.

Most everything he ate was cooked/fried with lard.

His cholesteral was always low

You know I can ship 20kgs worth of goods to the US for a low low price of AU$7.05 via surface mail. That's right, just seven dollars and five cents for 20 kilos. I tried to look if I could do surface mail from the US to Aus and it seems that USPS decided that they didn't want to do that anymore :(. Now to ship me 20kgs of goods from the US via airmail in one box in not possible, I can only order 20lbs, so the cheapest method for 20lbs is around US$40-50 for the box and the shipping

I was just doing a little research into the potential health risks of sassafras, as I've been considering making up a fall rootbeer or sassafras tea. I did so a few years back on my own, then came to find out sassafras was banned as a food additive due to carcinogenic properties of the oils in test animals - there's debate as to whether or not it would do the same in humans. Anyway, I'm still looking into that to see if one of my favorite beverages really is gonna kill me.

Something interesting I discovered: According to wikipedia the carcinogenic oil contained in high percentages in the root is a list I chemical due to its use in the manufacture of ecstasy. Maybe that's why the tea is so good. Go figure this oil is also in black pepper, nutmeg, and cinnamon, a few of the other things I enjoy.

I think we've all had a girlfriend once upon a time who would insist we throw out the better half of the kitchen after reading a post like this...

I drank Sassafras tea a lot as a kid, loved the stuff, didn't do any harm, hey wait, maybe a little brain damage

I have a very large Sassafras tree in the yard

Good to know. I'm not worried about it. I plan on making a few gallons as soon as I find the time.

I didn't see you at the shoot. Then again, I don't know what you look like.

Work had me running behind. I didn't get there until the auction was almost over, so there wasn't much time for introductions. Talked briefly with Michael & Aaron.

I was the incredibly handsome man wearing the bright orange ballcap

A Pyrotechnics Artists of Texas shoot was last night. Was pretty good. Had some issues with the dry grass and had to start/stop the show several times... However small fires are to be expected...

I successfuly entered the chemistry university, it's my 3rd week now and we're learning interesing stuff... speaking for chemistry. Maths are horrible and they have nothing to do with high school maths. Few understand shit. Physics are OK. I love the chemistry lectures and exercices, but most of the rest is crap.

Now I'm much more busy. Time has to spent for learning and student's work. But in a way, I like student's life. It's nicer and very different than school.

50AE,

When you start taking Physical chemistry math gets real important, calc II is a pre-requisite here, dunno how it works there.

Posted
Calc 2 is a prerequisite here too, but for p-chem you needed calc 3, which would have been good to know ahead of time. They gave you a crash course, but I wish I understood it better at the start.

I will try to learn them, it will not be easy though. I dislike maths since high school, not because I'm stupid, but because I've had many lacking of information from moving from one country to another and now it's too much. I like solving basic calculations only.
