firetech
End caps meaning end plugs? If so, do they fit around or fit inside the tube? You know I'm interested in plugs vent. PM me if you need to.
FrankRizzo
I am planning on contacting a few big paper tube manufacturing companies for a quote on some tubes. What are some sizes most people would be interested in?As well as ID and wall thickness, just FYI these guys make end caps as well. Ventsi, Jim Biersach already provides this service, with online checkout through his hobby store. You'll be extremely hard-pressed to find a mfg willing to make tubes equal in quality and dimensional tolerance at the price he's offering them. TheEskimo
Or if you wanted some like that at a decent price, you'd have to order like 10,000 or more.On the random side, National Geographic arrived today. Hooray
Ventsi
The guys make tubes/caps {outer and inner} for actual firework companies. For can shells/ cakes etc.. I still have to call them to see what the .minimum order should be. Cool thing is they can make tubes to all specs, spiral, parallel , reinforced, dipped in hot wax and everything you can think of. If the minimum order size is below $500 I might consider it. If not , oh well.
firetech
Im definitely interested in 1/4'' parallel tubes. Preferably uncut. Also in lots and lots of thick end plugs.
Ralph
is it just me or is some one at skylighter a little bit weird things like "Q: My electric matches didn't light all my visco fuses. What's the right approach? A: Visco can be sexually frustrating to light. There are a buncha ways to do it. Here's one. Hie thee down to thy neighborhood gun store. Get thee a pound of some fine-grained black powder (grainy is better than fine/meal grades). Then dip the enda thy wick in thinned nitrocellulose lacquer (#CH8200 or #CH8198). Whilst still moistened, dip thy wet wick into thy black powder so that thee now hast a big ole blobba BP on the end. Go find someone to have sex with. About the time thee hast finished (or waked up), ye wick will be dry enough. Take one of our Oxral ematches (#GN5000-no other match will do) in hand. Point the business end of it right at ye blobba BP on the enda thy wick. Attach it thereto, using masking tape. The objective is to create a big balla fire on the end of the visco, so that it will take fire. If you do not get the balla fire upon ignition, or if ignition causes acute pain, it is because you ignited wrong wick. Read directions again. RUUUUUN
That is hilarious! I contest the point of "about the time thee hast finished..."; NC lacquer doesn't dry in 7 seconds.
Ralph
he might only last 7 seconds but it takes him a few year to find some one desperate enough by that time the nc lacquer is dry

TheSidewinder
Yup, it sure does! Using it now. Very, very nice. I especially love the 10 second or less shutdown. Time will prove it one way or the other, but it looks like MS has followed the old "every other version is great, every other version sucks" trend: Win 98 sucked, Win 98SE was great, Win ME sucked, XP was great, Vista sucked, 7 is great. asilentbob
My NC laquer is very dilute. It dries in about 20 seconds when absorbed onto blackmatch or string or something else with high surface area. Anywho... halloween pyro ideas? Alcohol borates, smoke bombs... thats about all I can think of...
Ventsi
I was personally thinking of a few green/orange mines with some whistles thrown in. Or a few road flares in Jack O lanterns. Then there is the classic pumpkin Bl*w up!

Then there is the classic pumpkin Bl*w up!How bout an "Afro" pumpkin...with the classic "snakes" issuing out of the top? And the classic photoflash mix, used in a "beraq" sort of chain for the strobe effect? Or, yeah pumpkin parts were always fun...but, kids, ya know... A tower of pumpkins, With a large Gerb running down the middle, burns much like a thin walled lance. Each pupkin is Fitted like a mine, when the lance burns down, it blowes out stars, at he end (4 medium pumpkins) its a loud report. its all i had time to make this year, Probably going to set it off Oct 31st or Nov. 1st, dependent apon weather.
