If anyone missed this then here it is again, you should download it, its a pretty good job they have done on this thing.

YES, I found where I got it from, here you go everyone! I found it cause I was watching this product cause it looked really promising and I liked it

Here it is, it is free to the public:

Quote from this website "http://www.turbopyro.com/"

And Sidewinder, there is the proof that it is ok for people to download, sorry for the trouble.

TurboPyro, I swear I have had about 10 emails from Skylighter trying to flog their kit :)

TBP,

Don't worry, no trouble, but "Free to the Public" is not the same as "Released to the Public Domain". (At least, not here in the USA. Can't speak for Oz.)

Harry at Skylighter can put that PDF anywhere that *HE* wishes to for downloading, but that does *NOT* mean you or I can redistribute it unless we get specific permission to do so.

Some may consider that to be splitting hairs, but that's the law.

I made my first homemade screen today. It's a 400 mesh wire, installed on a cover of a whiskey box. I used some polyester resin to fill the gaps. It still dries and will finish it tomorrow, removing the unnecessary resin with my dremel.

I'll have to ask at the post office/ UPS ect for those mailing tubes next time I get the chance.

I stayed subscribed to skylighter's e-mail newletters because they used to contain lots of good information with only a tolerable amount of advertizing. Now everytime they have some "deal" or "new product" going on, they have to send out 18 emails to each subscriber to make sure they got the message.

Also thinking that if all else fails...thinking of just putting a shield up between the audience and the cake... There will only be people on one side of the cake (the other side is towards the water). I'm also not 100% sure whether the cake shells will even have the capability to rupture the tubing. I do intend to break them hard though. And I do realize that there could be other safety issues as well with having a close audience. The audience usually stands around the camp fire, watching from maybe ~30 feet as I light them on the beach. This is the reason why I only light "the big stuff" in the field behind my house.

OK, I got another link for the turbopyro, it is the same PDF file, but it has all the videos embedded with in the PDF, which is good if you dont have alot of internet bandwidth and so having this you could put it on a CD or something and still watch all the videos.

EDIT (sidewinder): I believe you misunderstood what I said.

The link to the PDF on the Skylighter site is fine. The link to the PDF anywhere else is not. (At least, not yet. See below)

Harry can publish it anywhere he wants to, but he has not released this to the Public Domain as far as I know.

This is no different than publishing a link to any other copyrighted materials.

HOWEVER, given the immediate popularity of this, and what I know about Harry, I'm *GOING* to ask him.

Been a while since I talked to him anyway. If he gives his blessing, hell, we'll put the "short" version in our Downloads section for everyone.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Edit(TBP): Yeah, really sorry, I just thought that since you can download the other one it would be fine to download this one, it is all the same, but with the videos embedded with in it, but yes I understand what you mean about me posting the link here. Sorry.

... And I successfully screened the rest of my atomized aluminium powder today.

It's a very slow process. You have to continuously tap on the screen with quite a force, to get the powder screened.

Now I have a 210 grams batch of +400 mesh Al, and the rest 190 grams is -400 Al

Because in glitters it's recommend to use -400 mesh Al, I wonder if I could find any use of the +400. Maybe it would work too, with a shorter effect.

Nice, 50AE. Stainless screens from Grainger or MSC are the way to go. I like your method with the can. I made some hardwood screens last year, and I didn't like the gap between the screen and the frame - it allowed comps to migrate and hide in the cracks, so I sealed the edges with epoxy putty. Then, because it was wood, and I like to use a hose to clean, I had to give them about 5 coats of polyurethane. Overall a PITA and I'll never use wood again - bucket screens or metal like yours is the way to go.

Just made a 3" plastic ball shell with Win39 glitter this morning. Might be able to set it off tonight (going to a fireworks-friendly beach). Also tried gluing some stars on top of some consumer shells...we'll see how that turns out. And for kicks & giggle, made a 1" plastic ball shell Ti salute.

Now I'm hitting myself for not getting more when I went down to Lasalle to get consumer 'works. Getting excited about fireworks and not having enough time to "make up the deficit" in homemade stuff. I guess I'll just make everything with NC laquer on the 3rd & 4th.

OK, as I said I would, I called Harry at Skylighter. He remembered me well, already knew about APC (favorably), and we had a long talk. (Across a range of subjects. Harry has the gift of gab, as most of us know. :D)

Now, the details aren't final and this might fall through, but stay tuned.

We *might* be able to offer our members a way to get the TurboPyro book *AND* a couple of bonus projects not found in the main PDF that was released on the Skylighter site. Details are still being worked on.

This might have been finalized yesterday, were it not for the Air Conditioning in Harry's server room taking a dump while were talking. Needless to say, he had to attend to that little irritant. ;)

Look for more news early next week.

Very cool, TS, way to go! I appreciate your stance on intellectual property. Maybe 10 years ago, I spent an entire year creating a suite of Casino games for Windows (TCP/IP; multiplayer) and they were hacked and cracked in a matter of months; no more registrations. They were good games and favorably received. I think my time ended up being worth about 50 cents per hour over that year.

TS,

The bonus smokes and fountains PDFs are already freely available on Harry's site.

Completely random, but would someone who lives in Britain please explain to me why saying "cock end" or "bell end" or "oh, cock" is now being used an exclamation of dissatisfaction or an insult there? Did someone famous start using it or something? I've heard it much more lately watching British television shows. It's such a weird parochialism. :)

Thanks, Swede! Sucks that your work got stolen out from under you.

And I'm pretty sure Harry is talking about some other projects, Frank, ones not yet released to the general public on his site.

His wording to me was such that I can't be certain, though.

But I'll get the details when I talk to him Monday.

The first reference to "bell end" I've heard, and I would assume other terms, result from Da Ali G Show.

I guess this post could go in the depression and happiness thread. After 6 amazing years with my Fiance she decided she wanted something and/or somebody else. So instead of moping around like I have beend doing for the past month, I am going to work during the week and buy all the pyro stuff I never could afford before. I guess you could say I'm a born again pyro. I have all the opportunity in the world to work on my pyro too bad I tossed so much stuff, but it's time to rebuild. Just in time for the 4th too! I don't know if I'll have enough time for all of the stuff I want to do.

I want to get my hunting license now that I'm back in california. I want to build another work table. I had built the one kyle planned out on passfire and just left it in texas. Thing was a beast! Get ready for the jeep run. Ahhhh... so many plans.

I have some questions if people dont mind voicing their opinion. I'm so rusty at this point.

1. Should i get a star plate (wolter is out of the size I would want) or build a star roller?

2. Join WPAG or PGI? I don't think I want to do both right now. I live in Bakersfield, CA.

3. Should I watch out for any of my chems going bad after storing for 2 years? I keep everything in plastic bags, inside of snap containers. I got rid of all acids, bases, and bariums when I stuck everything in storage. So basically,

dextrin

red gum

parlon

black copper oxide

red iron oxide

strontium carbonate

strontium nitrate

pot nitrate(should be fine)

pot perchlorate

magnalium ~200 mesh

aluminum flake 325 mesh

aluminum atom 100 mesh

aluminum atom 200 mesh

aluminum from pyroaluminum.com

sodium benzoate

pot permanganate

calcium carbonate

black copper oxide thermite

I've got other things like clay and what not I know are gonna be what they're gonna. Be and I know none of this stuff is gonna get crazy on me, I'm just double checking if there is anything I should prepare for before I plan on making comps and all of a sudden my magnalium isn't reacting anymore or whatever, you know what I'm asking.

Thanks you guys.

Because I'm going back to my country this month...

I wonder if there will be a problem transporting some "harmless chemicals". Except all house goodies, I have to put on the cargo 1 pound of Parlon, 2 pounds of red gum, 1 pounds of SGRS in granule form and half a pound of aluminium powder. I also take many hemis, craft papers, cardboard tubes with me, but nothing inflammable, corrosive or oxidizer. I doubt they will pose problems, except their powder form.

In the past I've also taken with me many other junk.. Electronic devices, components, wires, knifes, hammers, tools... you name it. And they didn't give me trouble.

An update on the Turbo Pyro book:

The failure of his Air Conditioning obviously took precedence over our conversation about the PDF. Harry never got a chance to talk to his Programmer, who is now on vacation for the rest of the week.

We've pushed this back until next week sometime.

At the moment, you cannot get the book directly from his site until a technical problem he's having is resolved.

I'll ask for everyone's patience while this is resolved.

And, please, do not post any links whatsoever to this book. Harry is entitled to distribute it as he sees fit. If we work with him, it will be to both his and our advantage.

Thank you.

Well, I can ask if he burns the CAD file to a CD, so you can duplicate it yourself. He's an student instrument maker, and I don't think his school will like it if he makes loads of spindles without paying for it.

Manual lathes are nice pieces of machinery in my opinion, but a CNC one is just very conveniant. Put a piece of metal in it, hit start, get a cup of coffee and it's done with 0,01 millimeter precision (or better). Because of the price difference between a manual and CNC one I would rather buy a manual however. I just don't have room for a lathe the next 5 years (becoming a chemistry student).
