"Plug in the soldering iron. Put some solder in a metal cup with the iron's tip in it. Let it start to melt. Wrap the electrical tape around your genitals TIGHT. Shove the steel wool up your anal entrance...DO NOT USE LUBE. Apply the super glue to your lips and shove as much clay as you can up your nostrils. Pour the now molten solder all over your body. then... Return the copper wire.... you don't need it."

That about sums it up, but you're wrong about the copper wire though, the rest should read: Pour the now molten solder all over your body while your kewl friends whip you with the copper wire. :D

Well..the thought of the dude walking into the hardware like that was too good to pass on

I may send him this as a reply, hehe :D

Been thinking about getting a new car (Holden VX Commodore or Toyota MR2) which made me wonder, what do we all currently drive? Edited by WarezWally

1994 Olds Cutlass Siera SL and 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo (for the camper trailer).

Decent car, the Commodore. My friends in Perth have one.

I drive a VW Golf Variant -96 and a Ford Transit -08.

Slightly back to the kewls and hardware stores, my older brother (in the '70's) was mechanically adept, and not a pot smoker, but he had friends that were. They talked him into making pot pipes and micro bongs from hardware store items, mainly soft copper tubing, copper compression fittings, etc. By the time he had gathered up adequate fittings to create a few drug pipes, he dumped them on the counter, and the cashier knew exactly what he was up to. How many 16 year olds buy plumbing components? "Gonna have a bit of fun?" wink wink. He became infamous for making drug paraphernalia from plumbing fittings at school.

I believe at the time there was no law against paraphernalia, hence head shops where you could buy bongs and such. He got out of it after a year after making a few bucks and realizing it wasn't the smartest thing he could do with his time.

It's amazing how many kewls think modeling clay has anything to do with explosives. Steel wool? WTF? I'd say talk him into this:

"Place two copper 'electrodes' into either end of the lump of clay, and use a battery to electrolytically convert the clay into C4. This is how the army does it."

Actually, sculpey clays and similar are PVC based and might actually burn when intimate with KNO3.

Isn't there a star formula utilising sculpey? I thought to myself, then I googled it, from skylighter:

From Christian Brechbuehler - Jun 15 1993

Potassium perchlorate 70

Fimo [PVC "clay"] 20

Copper 10

There are more formulas using sculpey, I remember reading about a rocket-fuel using Sculpey or Fimo, can't find it now though.

My mentor, who's been outta touch alot lately- has that formula ... I'll see if I can't raise him on the telly.

I had at one point found some formula on the web for "salmon colored sculpy stars", which consisted of 75% Ammonium Perchlorate and 25% Sculpy (kneeded together). These stars burn extremely slowly (as you would expect) with a pretty salmon flame. They require some fairly substantial priming (KP prime yielded about half of the stars lighting out of the stargun). I also found that you could make a decent purple flame simply by adding +10% copper powder.

One of the main problems was with binding. The directions said to either press them plain with no solvent, or press them and then (CAREFULLY) bake them to harden the sculpy. I tried both, and both methods produced crumbly stars (though baked was harder to crumble). I ended up just binding them with NC laquer, which in itself is also a mediocre/ crumbly method. I'll have to look more into alternative binding methods.

I've got plans to continue experimenting with these stars, but haven't had time yet. I even bought some silicon powder for improving the priming.

Just a thought, But are there any black members here at APC? hmmm?

Who really cares what people are?? There are good folks and $#*&heads of every colour.

Chatted to my mentor dude... he seemed to think the rocket fuel is in AFN2- which I do not have... any help here folks? He's gonna try and dig it it and email it to me tho...

That's probably where I read it, I'll try to find my copy tonight, good reading even if I don't find it.

From Best of AFN 3 pg 93

KClO4 - 75

Sculpy - 25

MgAl - 5

Fe2O3 - 2.5

Copper Chromite - 3

You could probably replace the copper chromite for any copper salt or even Fe2O3, it's just a catalyst.

VERY cool Mumbles :{) Now...my guy was unsure...need it be baked before use? Which hardens it...

I dont care, I am just curious. I do not mean to offend anyone.

He doesn't say anything about cooking it, but I get the impression that he does not. He does state that it might work better if lit with thermolite instead of visco. Maybe add some metal doped meal to the end of the visco if you're going to try it. He also says the best way to mix it is with a rolling pin, kind of like making a pie crust. He also states this about rocket dimensions:

It turns out that a 3/8"x3" casing with 1/8" nozzle

and 2" core will fly to around 500-600 feet, accelerating

the whole time. Very impressive. I

tried a 1/4"x3" casing with similar nozzle and core

but did not get the performance from my rocket

that he got from his. The difference was that he

ignited his with thermolite and I used visco.

No offense taken. In all honesty, I don't know if we have any black members.

But it doesn't matter to me anyway. As long as members follow the rules, they can be purple with green polka dots for all I care. ;)

Police: -Who was shooting the fireworks, do you have a description?

Soccer mom: -Well, he looked kinda purple and had green polka dots.

Police: -Oh, George is up to no good again.

I know some of you have experience with this. I was wondering if anyone can recommend a decent food vacuum sealer. I don't need top of the line, but I want something that wont cause me too many headaches

If you follow the Alcohol thread, you may have noticed that I was looking into buying some bulk hops for beer brewing. I was planning to break the pounds down into smaller packages, and they are best stored in a vacuum bag in the freezer.

Mumbles: I've used a FoodSaver brand unit, it worked pretty well. They're all pretty damn loud, though, with those microscopic little vacuum pumps they put in.

Any particular model? I've actually read some good things about that brand. It seems to fit my needs without killing the bank. I'll probably keep an eye on ebay.

My younger brother started buying meat in bulk from Sam's club, so he needed to find a way to store the excess. Ziploc sells a little kit that uses a big syringe to vacuum seal the bags that came with it. They're like normal Ziplocs, but have a one-way valve in the outside of the bag. Make sure to backfill with an inert gas too (CO2 will work).

Weird dreams

Weeks ago, I said to myself that I won't do anything pyro while I'm in France, and I'll start again when I come back to Bulgaria in the summer. It seems that pyrotechnics starts to miss me, because I get weird "pyro" dreams while I sleep. For example, that night I dreamt that I go on the balcony to take some stars. I accidentally, don't know how, made a spark and it fell on them. I was scared, looking at the prime burn, but the stars don't ignite, thank god I said. I took them and I realised that they were moist from a rain, bending in my hand like french fries :D
