XinE895
Thanks mumbles for that information, ill have to look into that. How about using Copper Acetate? On unitednuclear they say this is used to make Paris Green, but I haven't seen a synth using this chemical.
tentacles
Possible happiness today - someone brought in a large ball mill full of.... ceramic media! Now, if only I can figure out where they put it in the yard here, I may be getting my hands on buckets of ceramic media, free. I've got a handful of the stuff, and it's 5/8-1 1/8" so hardly ideal, but free is definitely ideal.
flying fish
Quick question for all you chemistry buffs...at work I got some methanol in a Potassium Silicate solution, and some solid stuff precipitated out. Is that just solid SiO2 (silica) or some other odd thing?
hst45
Its a 2002 600cc 4cylinder, Suzuki Katana. It scares the hell outta me but I love it! Not looking forward to crashing it but everyone keeps telling me its bound to happen.Nice bike. I'm more of a cruiser-rider, but they're all fun. You're probably o.k. for now since it still scares you, it's after you've ridden for a while and you get more confident when the danger is greatest. You'll push it more, get used to what you can do, and then *something* will happen where two or three small problems happen at once; you'll solve for two variables, but number three will bite you. Sorry for the bad news, but it happens to us all. On my one and only (so far) big wreck I remember knowing that I was taking it into the trees and I remember my last thought before I blacked-out was "I hope this doesn't hurt *much*". Woke up some time later walking down the road, half a mile away from the wreck, bloody as hell, carrying my helmet. The bike was 150 feet into the woods, bent all to hell. Great fun. I've wiped out skiing, flipped a snowmobile on top of me doing an unintentional 3/4 barrel roll, and had a few other nutty things happen, but the bike wreck was the worst. And I still ride.... Tweetybird88
Anyone into video games? The new GTA really is pretty sweet.
50AE
Yeah, I like all GTA's a lot. But I play them on PC, so I'm still waiting for the release of GTA IV on PC.
Gunzway
I use to play Counter Strike Source back in the day. I own a Wii but I don't use it much. I got one GTA on playstation2 I think it's San Andreas. I seem to have lost most of my interests in video games.

50AE
I played Portal and HL2: EP2, they're both excellent games. For now, the most of the time I'm playing wacraft 3, Hitman Blood Money and GTA : SA. Sometimes I launch the good old CS 1.
Pretty green flame
I mostly play Cossacks: TAoW, rarely also CS:CZ. Strategy games rule.
justanotherpyro
The motive to not fail classes and to have four years of debt after college actually worth something has successfully killed my desire for playing video games. Once in a rare while I'll lan a starcraft game or C&C3 with a few friends though.
mormanman
Have you guys taken a look at that new speed racer movie? Oh my goodness, it looks awesome. It may sound immature but I want to see it.Thats all I have to say.

My copy of GTA IV is in the mail from Asia I tried to get the game off of Ebay but with shipping and everything it costed over 60 dollars and as a struggling pyro who won't start scooping ice cream at friendlys for a couple more weeks, i decided not to. I just went to target and asked for the game. The lady said that she wasn't allowed to sell it to me because I didn't have a reservation but just sold it to me anyway. It was on sale too for $55, that was almost suspicious. tentacles
Jeez, I can't believe target is doing that bullshit now too. That's standard policy at gamestop/EB. If they don't reserve it, tell em they're all reserved, give em a hard time etc. Usually you'll see a shelf full of copies right behind them, but "they're all reserved". Last time I told them nevermind, and picked it up at best bouy.
Apollofrost
Ah, good old target. Last time I was in there they had everything nailed down to the point where nobody on shift had keys to open the glass display cases. They also had an xbox 360 for 199, which turned out to be a misprinted tag. It was supposed to be something else like an accessory kit. Yet through all of this they somehow forgot that the lenses on the Nikon d40 camera come off. So I called a clerk over, popped off the 18-55 lens and told them of the problem. She was kinda stoned but I think she got the idea. I don't do much gaming as of late. Sometimes I'll flick on my soon to be ex-housemate's 360 and play mass effect or assassin's creed but it's been a while since I've done that. I think I got out of PC gaming when I bought my first laptop. I just got tired of having to upgrade my computer every year or so to run any new game at a decent speed. I've played bioshock and overlord on my current laptop but they simply ran better on the 360. I may be in the market for a 360 if I can find one cheap, but it's not a priority. oskarchem
Well, I play Diablo II a bit, but not really much, I am going to upgrade my computer this year, because honestly it is a peice of museum display. I've been having a real bad hedache for 4days... I really wonder what it is...
JCrewPyros
I am a gamer myself... I have played PC Diablo, Diablo II, Knights Online, World of Warcraft ( Level 63 Orc Hunter ), Age of empires I, II, III and the expansions, C&C 2, 3, and expansions. Probably more but cannot remember to save my life... I like the hack and slash and strategy games on the PC. Console Geez where to start... Pretty much everything... I was stuck on Halo 2 for a long time... That game was addicting... Halo 3 let me down... Same game as 2 with just better graphics... So I moved on to Call of Duty 4 on 360... I enjoy shooting people in the face... Oh if you like RPG's check out Enchanted Arms... That entertained me for 40+ hours and had fun with it... (Side note: If your girlfriend likes to gamble then dont let her watch you play EA... Mine lost all my money in the Casino... Had to fight creatures a long time to get it back LOL!) InRainbows
I used to play World of Warcraft, had a 56 Orc Hunter, and 46 Tauren Shaman. The Burning Crusade expansion sucked, so I quit, thankfully. What a waste of 6 months.
tentacles
So I've been looking around at gokart designs, and took at look at the goped quad TRQ - pretty f'n neat little ride. 4.5HP, full suspension. Enough power to break the rear end loose in a corner a little. So I looked at the suspension setup closely, it uses no springs or shocks. They used rubber torsion springs, they serve as both spring and shock. I want to buy some to put on my gokart, but the only company that seems to make them doesn't sell to the public (OEM's only) and the only people that sell their products sell them integrated into their own stuff. Axles for RVs, farm equipment, whatnot. Gonna call them monday and see if I can order some samples or something. I want to at least put rear suspension on the kart, as it'd be stupid easy. Once I've finished my design I plan on making it free for all, there aren't enough good free kart plans on the net. I'm making it up in AutoCAD. Picked up a 6.5HP engine today, brand new, for $130. It's a cheapo honda clone.
justanotherpyro
Kinda on that note I'm pissed at my bike right now. I have done everything I can to try and unplug/free up the carburetor without taking it off. It looks like I still have to take the damn thing off and go through a full cleaning. I really do hate carburetors, thank God for fuel injection.
DeAdFX
What is the grade of water from cold packs(the ones that have NH4NO3/H2O Urea/H2O)? ie is it food grade / tap /distilled/etc
oskarchem
I would guess it is food grade, why do you ask? I wanted to ball mill my Mg shavings, but I am afraid that they would ignite as soon as I opened my jar, is this possible or not? Thanks.
justanotherpyro
I have no idea, but they sure are fun to shoot out of a pneumatic spud gun.
tentacles
DeadFX: considering they're sold as first aid items, it is probably sterile distilled/RODI water. On another note, I put the lift bars in my mill jar today, it works great now. I powdered 3 1/2 lbs of KNO3 in about 10 minutes. I bet I could have loaded it heavier, too. I've got 1kg of BP going in there now. I just put chunks of charcoal in there. Gonna take a sample out at 1 hr, 2hr, 3hr.
TheSidewinder
No, it's not sterile water. DO NOT drink it or use it for anything that will be consumed. The ingredients of the pack aren't designed to see open air when used, so there was no need to make the contents sterile. If they leak at all, they're supposed to be thrown out, for that and other reasons. (I was an EMT for a number of years.)
